Some issues with it are circled around not having a way to spend said tokens on anything, but collectibles. If you can create ERC20 apps that are simple to use and have a variety of features people would like, then they would start using crypto over dollars. Like a online atomic swap payment service on retail websites that converts the price of an item into a smart contract that initiates an atomic transaction into crypto. Then it relays from dollars to crypto or from crypto to dollars in real time. The next step would be to assign a ID of some kind to the item you ordered and have it shipped to your place of residence using a unique identifier like your real name, address, and zip code.

But this is a dream world we live in where the real ideas in crypto re overlooked for the gains. Nobody gives a crap about using these tokens to buy anything but more cash.

Why wouldn't you just use a tokenized USD instead of having 2-3 levels of abstraction just to ultimately get to and from USD... This is why it's a dumb idea.
