OK so if I sell something, for example ETH, someone has to BUY this right?

So how come the order books when I sell something show up as a sell? Isn't it actually someone also buying???

that's not a noob question, that's a retard question.

but look up trading "maker" and "taker". taker action determines if it's called a buy or a sell, and taker actions are what actually move the price. makers just enable taker actions.

Why do taker actions move the price and maker do not? If I sell someone MUST buy so it's a BUY

look at the diff between limit and market orders as well as maker/taker like other anon said

There's your problem. No one is obligated to fill your sell orders. If that were the case, you'd be seeing people sell Link for $1000 EOH (end of hour).
