i actually work closely with fraud
nobody in the actual inner crypto space is acting the way people act around a genuine fraudster, which is typically a shame-based denial of existence. people who commit fraud get treated like trailer meth heads on a street corner - it's painful for people to look directly at them and acknowledge it's possible to exist the way they do - as hollow caricatures of success with absolutely no real value.

whereas people are shunning craig very, very loudly. That's what you do, not to dissuade fraud, but to punish someone who takes an unearned honor. the truth is Satoshi was almost obviously, just based on the reactions of the community, the three people CSW has claimed, including Craig, and two of them are either dead or in prison (one is for sure dead, Dave, and the other is probably Hal who is also dead.) They probably agreed to bury the character when the first of them died or they sent their final message, but now Craig is back on this crusade for SV, and everyone else obviously finds it to be in terrible taste.

I forgive the crypto community for not seeing how painfully obvious this is through all the subtext and intertext, but it is really painfully obvious once you see it.
