I am for the most part only interested in projects that satisfy all these requirements:

1) Must be truly useful or interesting enough that I think many people want to buy coins for reasons other than just attempting to profit from it.
2) Must not be easy to replicate by another team, in practice this most likely means that the project has such a good head start in its field that the network effect will hinder any competitors from taking hold.
3) Must be fully decentralized, for example by using nakamoto consensus if it's a blockchain, or having 100% FOSS code if it's a startup building on a blockchain, otherwise it is my opinion that it might as well have been implemented in a centralized manner more efficiently.
4) Must not already be overvalued when looking at the price compared to how active it actually is right now.
