What makes you think they'll get a bailout this time? It would be the public outcry of last time times ten since they're producing really only ICE vehicles and the majority of the public will either not want to pay for it or want to see it die off and be replaced by something environmentally conscious. Imagine if a democrat wins the election, it would be career suicide to give them money. I don't think there's a good risk reward in that stock, but I haven't really looked into it either.

Ford may very well go bankrupt in our lifetimes and they're not set to become a leader in EVs. They're, like other major auto manufacturers, are getting dragged along by Tesla kicking and screaming. The main problem is that even if they can manage to make a decent EV, none of their dealers want to sell EVs because they make the majority of their profit off service, not sales, so they would lose money since EVs are more reliable and need less maintenance. By the time they manage to get around this and spin up their production, it may be too late, and they'll start getting replaced by EV startups that have a fraction of the debt and dealership model baggage. There's also going to be a need for a fraction of the amount of cars on the road as robotaxis take over in cities and greatly eat into the amount of people buying new cars and Ford is already way behind with technology so I doubt they'll manage to do well in that market as well.
