I don't think gaps mean anything except a self-fulfilling prophecy where traders think it should be filled so naturally the price will trend up or down to fill it.

I also think this "self fulfilling prophecy" thing is why TA ever happens to be right for crypto. If enough people think bitcoin will dump based on their TA bullshit astrology, naturally, more people will put their finger on the sell button trying to beat the crowd which might end up in a cascade of selling activity.

institutions trade BTC on CME and every time bitcoin gaps up or down (((they))) dump btc on kraken and coinbase to make their chart look pretty again. that's about it.
