my ultimate plan will probably be to day trade with 50k-100k maximum, with 80% of the rest of my money in dividend stocks which i'll buy and sell over longer periods of time (mostly just managing them to keep my average price relatively low in the range) and 20% in high risk high reward stocks which is diversified over a bunch of different ones. day trading is the hard one, after that it's just managing your overall wealth, growing a much larger sum of money more slowly over a long period of time vs. a smaller amount you grow much more quickly.

I do our taxes each year. This is how it works. Each year during Tax season the brokerage will send you (or you can download it) a summary of all your trades. This summary is also sent to the IRS. Each important bit that needs to go on the tax forms is marked. You just fill in the "blanks" on the tax forms as needed. Same way you input your W-2 information or any interest income earned on savings. A key thing to remember is to don't rush into doing your taxes right away. Sometimes the brokerage likes to do late minute updates to your summary. So if you do your taxes and they do this update then you have to file an updated return.

Normal account, and I get about $5K per year.

dividends are too slow unless you have a massive amount of capital, though. if you've got that it's good though. the main reason why most hedge funds suck and can't beat the S&P returns is because they have to manage such large sums of capital. at a certain point there just isn't enough liquidity to pull off the tricks small amounts can do in day trading.

It is more or less your typical balanced portfolio with 60% equities and 40% bonds, but everything is 3x leveraged. The idea is that bonds hedge the equities. Normally people do this with regular index funds and such, but this increases your potential gains because of the leverage. What's wrong with that?
Why would you want "but muh feefees but I'm not saying muh feefees but "because it's the right thing to do" and "I can't even...""?
Nihilism means that the world is your playground. You're free to do what you want and don't need any outside justification or excuse.
And hedonism is not exclusively drugs, sex and whatever you're thinking of. If you want to live under a bridge for a year just to enjoy the simple life of a street bum then that's hedonism. If you want to cure cancer simply because you want to do this then this is also hedonism for you. Doing thing because you want to.

if i learned one thing so far from reading more deeply into the 2008 financial crisis it's 1) huge world-ending economy-collapsing nightmare shit can (and has) really happen(ed), and 2) NO ONE is going to save you if and when it does. it's fucking terrifying to think about it, if you really truly think about it deeply for awhile and how easily you could be like that guy joe talks about who had a plot of land he was going to build his dream house on and he just fucking lost everything in 2008. fucking terrifying to consider. kinda just reaffirms why im so focused on day trading desu.

Will watch later. Do recommend everybody look at the S&P chart and DOW chart for pre-S&P days on the daily timeframe for all the big historic crashes. When I was putting together brand new TA heavy trading strat earlier this year, priority number 1 was "will this bullshit warn me before a crash?". If the stuff I was testing failed that criteria it went straight in to the trash. A good TA strat will warn you before significant index drops but you won't know if it's just a brief retrace of a few percent or the big one as the signals will be identical. The combination of finger bones and weighted dice I wound up settling on give sell signals on the S&P an average of two or three times a year (on backtest). I take those as caution signs and signals that I should be either hedging more or holding a larger cash percentage. Stop losses are used on every trade.

i mean look, im working on becoming a day trader for a living, i get it. at this point for me it's basically a matter of realizing that the rich people are all just pulling scams for the most part, legally mind you, and it's better to be the scammer than the scammed. might as well make a bunch of money too if you can't stop it. i suppose that's why the fed rate announcements are so important, right? lol, people are probably watching for when those rate hikes will occur for just that reason, i wouldn't be surprised.

but this isn't a game. this is REAL LIFE. REAL PEOPLE, FAMILIES, especially poor and old people, had their lives completely fucking destroyed over this shit. and no one saved them. in fact the government saved the scammers. what i can't get over is that this is real life, this really happened, and mostly likely continues to happen. this is another good one dealing with the story of a guy who was involved with identity theft, really entertaining watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcpIsapqbAc

it's just... i feel like learning about the 2008 financial crisis is a turning point for people. if you really educate yourself on it, depending on what you thought of the world before, it could potentially completely change how you look at the world we all live in, the society we live in. it just completely blows any sense of morality out of the water for me, it's fucking unreal. and it's happened many times before that and will happen many times after that, and NO ONE WILL SAVE YOU, THE NORMAL AVERAGE JOE. that's the biggest thing im struggling with. no one will save you, you are alone. if you get fucked, no one will bail you out. if you kill yourself because you lost everything, if you kill a bunch of other people out of rage and get shot by the police... no one will care. no one will save you.

its fucked up. its really fucked up if you really think about it deeply.at this point i just want more people to learn about it and educate themselves on it

Mixed news guys.
Check out crtx. They also seem to be on the right track, so sava is not alone. They target a bacterium with a small molecule, practically to the same effects as sava. However, they are closer to the root cause if their bacterial hypothesis stands, and herpes fails.
In a way it also validates the effectiveness of the sava drug though, and they have cognitive data after 1 month of reduced inflammation. From this i think sava's secondary endpoints will be met and we will see a market cap about half a bil by summer.

Damn shame though, i thought sava is the one in a houndred, and now there's two... crtx is also already doing their adaptive phase2/3 which will be a success

by game i mean this isn't a video game, this isn't like i shoot you in the head in counterstrike and you die and come back. it's like i shoot you in the head in real life and you die and you don't respawn, and you feel the pain associated with getting shot or whatever.

but yes, it is a game. it's just that my main takeaway is that no one will save you, and many people don't even know they're playing a game. they don't know the rules, they don't know shit, and the people who DO know the rules are taking advantage of them, but because it's within the rules of the game it's okay (legal). i feel like it's important to remember that for the rest of my life. no one will save you. if everything really collapses and the shit truly hits the fan for real, no one will save you. everyone for themselves. this is the world we live in. would you agree with this statement? i guess i want some validation on my feelings to a certain degree too, it's not essential but would be nice.

no one will save you. if the shit truly hits the fan, no one will save you. everyone for themselves. if you can fuck over someone else for your personal gain, it's okay. if someone fucks you over for their personal gain, it's okay. no one will save you in the end, it's you and you alone. surely you can understand how this pill is a bit hard to swallow, but this one historical event has really opened my eyes and completely shot any kind of faith i had in society for likely the rest of my life. no one will save you.

Fuck Italy, fuck France, and I don’t know if germany has anything to do with this but they’ve been ruining Europe for centuries so FUCK GERMANY.

I like BIG TIM APPLE but I think I’m a Microsoft boy now. The cloud business ain’t going nowhere and neither are the subscriptions to excel and the office suite. Open source and free shit just ain’t the same, and if alteryx or something like that ever actually becomes a competitor, they’ll just buy them out.

But Apple, the reason they trade at such a low P/E is that institutions judge that there is a real risk of them going the way of Nokia and Blackberry. The cellphone industry is prone to disruption, and you have to bet that Apple can stay ahead of the competition or can integrate enough of a services business or get people to really buy into the appleTV.

I wouldn’t bet on Apple beating out the other devices like Roku. I’m also suspicious that the Nvidia shield will take any market share. I think that market will be controlled by the amazon fire stick and Roku TVs, with some people sticking with gaming consoles.

I’m biased though, I’ve only ever used firetv and Roku. Do you folks have experience with the other offerings?

the fucked up thing is that before i was ever making real money in the stock market, i just loved the game of it. i loved trying to predict the future for every candle, to try and find a way to reliably predict the future, and how far. how to see when the trend started to turn around.

literally just look at any stock on any random day, start from the open with the pre market information, and using whatever indicators you want, try to decide on each individual candle whether it's going up or down, or whether you don't know (and thus you would wait and not trade). to consider what positions you might be in at any given time, and what decisions you would make on each individual candle. try playing that game, it's fun. consider what strategy you could use to improve your odds, how you might change how you deal with risk and reward, scaling out or in, etc.

the stock market to me resembles magic: the gathering a lot. every strategy is a different deck archetype and pretty much all of them can get you to mythic rank, but there is a tier list and so some are better than others and there is a metagame. all of these different "decks" are in play at all times, and winning games is the equivalent of completing a successful trade. maybe the game is really just one game that is a total of all of your gains and losses over a period of time, or to date. there are super aggressive scalpers and there are control decks who hold positions for months if not years. there are midrange decks that swing trade. it's very interesting, i stopped playing most video games shortly after getting hooked on stocks, and honestly believe that even if i never traded with real money for the rest of my life, i'd still probably do demo account because it's just so fun and fascinating to play. it's so simple, just buy low sell high or the reverse with shorting, but there is such an extreme level of depth of strategy beyond that simplicity. a really good thing for any serious trader to ponder.

i agree. most people are gamblers in the market. the 2008 financial crisis is fucked up because it's basically an example of gambler mentality having the potential to literally destroy the ENTIRE WORLD ECONOMY. and that's terrifying to me, idk how else to describe it. there are just gamblers out there who are running scams and no one will stop them, ever. in fact, the gamblers get bailed out, because they fucked up SO BADLY. it's almost like if you're going to be evil, you should be as evil as humanly possible instead of just a little evil, so big that if you go down everyone else goes down with you, so they have to save you to save themselves. it's really fucked up to think about deeply.

like here i am on /biz/ trying to tell people to stop gambling and treat this with respect, like a business, to find ways to make small amounts from the market consistently, and then... the 2008 financial crisis. Jesus fucking christ dude, I don't even know what to say, I'm just legitimately speechless about it. The more I learn the worse it gets. feels good to know at least i won't get fucked though compared to all of the normies who aren't financially educated, but still.

I started trading in btc and other cryptos in 2017. I had no more than 200 euros in my bank account that time and came out of the market with 15k in a few months. The market was far too volatile and manipulative so I went out.

A friend introduced me to Forex trading and did it for a few months. Was quite difficult compared to crypto, but the chance that you will come out with a profit is small.

Now I really want to try the stock market. I have a lot of interest in global events in politics, business, society ect. So I am quite up to date if I say so myself. Every now and then I make fictional predictions in my head at the macroeconimics level.

My question to you is whether you have a good entry model for me or any tips / links where I can start.

with regards to forex, you may find this video enlightening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvq0t0eQOG4 in short basically the big banks manipulate that shit hardcore, especially the US Dollar pairs. there is demand in forex, but no supply. no one is worried about the supply of dollars or euros or whatever, they're more or less infinite and dictated mostly by government policy.

it's one of the major reasons why i trade stocks and not forex (although honestly my system could probably work in forex too since it's still ultimately just about determing what the trend is and when it ends and that's it). in stocks there is supply and demand. in stocks, there is real intrinsic value based on the valuations of the company's assets and revenue. in stocks, real people are buying and selling shit. in stocks, self-fullfilling prophecies are a real thing because everyone else can see the chart just like you can, they can see the same levels and pivot points which is why support and resistance and trend lines work in stocks, but not forex. real people (or even algos which are programs written by real people to react based on models of what real people do and how real people react to shit) buy and sell stocks, institutional buying is still real people but with a LOT of fucking money, like billions, so obviously their strategies have to be different, you can't exactly scalp with billions of dollars over and over.

that said, the best advice i can ever give, and will continue to give repeatedly here and elsewhere, is to simply watch all of No Nonsense Forex's youtube channel and if you want, check out his podcasts and blog posts on his website too. if im successful ultimately in this business, i owe it all to him, and it's all free so the least i can do is send people his way. just absorb all of the information he gives, then prepare to do literally months and months of backtesting and paper trading, reading lots of investopedia and the like. LEARN.

i'll also say that im not going to provide you a good entry model or anything, but i'll at least tell you that you should be a trend trader and develop a system that gives you the highest probability of determining the short/medium/long term trends and when they are likely to end or at least lose momentum. that's the game.

my strategy currently is i scalp on the 1 min time frame. i have a system that tells me what the trends are and when they are all saying up, i buy the bottom of the previous candle and sell the top, over and over. you have to figure out your system for yourself though, and your time frame. some people day trade, some people swing trade over days, some over weeks, some people buy penny stocks and hope for a buyout before bankrupcy. there are so many patterns you can play, like earnings drift and buy the rumor sell the news. there's the 3-bar play. you have to find what fits your personality at the end of the day, i can't tell you that. just know that there are a lot of different roads to success, it's not like only 1 thing works. most of it is about money management (risk) and trader psychology/discipline (follow your trading plan strictly no matter what after testing the shit out of it so you can be confident in it). with solid psychology and money management you could be profitable in the long run just flipping coins whether to go long or short on any trade. the system just gives you better than 50/50 odds ultimately.

i mean, as long as you watch all of his stuff you should be pretty okay. i'd say the podcasts are more advanced material that you can get into if you want to delve deeper. mainly the technical analysis, money management, and psychology playlists are the ones to check out. it really can't hurt you to watch the "beginner" videos and just everything in general, though. depends how badly you want to be good at this shit.

i mean what i say though. if im successful over the next couple of decades in this game, i owe it to him. i consider NNFX my foundation. i took it and i ran with it, and i learned waaaay more beyond it, it's hardly the end-all be-all. but i recommend it to noobs because it's a perfect place to start. once you have that foundation, you can take it and expand your education elsewhere. you can look at all of the other strategies and tools available out there (i literally just today learned that earnings whispers was a thing that exists, and only a couple of weeks ago did i learn that finviz even existed). BUT, you will look at those through the lens of NNFX, and you'll test the ever loving shit out of anything you find and keep what works and ditch what doesn't.

this game is simple, and winnable, but not easy. it really is ultimately just about testing the shit out of everything and keeping what works and eliminating what fails, that's what it all comes down to in the end. and all of the info is free, hell even without a platform like ToS there are plenty of free charting resources on the internet too like tradingview. don't pay anyone for shit, put in the work and the time and the effort and you will be rewarded. don't fall for the get rich quick schemes. learn patience and discipline. the reward is worth all of the sacrifices in the end, you're the person who determines whether you can actually put in that work or whether you're lazy. in the end, it is all ultimately on your shoulders, remember that.

probably the best thing he can do is open your eyes to the world of indicators and trend trading. after that it's just a matter of optimizing, polishing a lump of coal until it becomes a diamond kind of thing. the better your "edge" on the market, the higher the probability of success on any given trade, the more money you make (and the less you lose). it's that simple. not easy by a long shot, but simple.

im literally just trying to help random anons, i know there are a lot of scammers out there. even here on /biz/ there are a lot of gamblers which i try to advocate against their gambling ways.

ultimately you're trying to find high probability setups. the higher the probability of success, the better. the lower you lose when you lose, and the more you win when you win, the better. you don't have to be right 100% of the time to be profitable, though the shortened quote is "you don't have to be right, you just have to be profitable." simple, right? the more information you can have available to you, the higher the probability will logically be for the most part. imagine if i told you about a stock that had a positive money flow (is under more accumulation than distribution of shares), had positive sentiment from most people, had increasing revenue and consistent earnings beats (they beat the expectations of their earnings regularly), were outperforming the S&P for at least a year if not longer, and the short term average price was rising above the longer term average price, has fantastic and highly lauded management... would you bet on that stock going up or down? what do you think has the higher probability of happening, long or short?

you see what i mean? you gotta actually do the work to figure all of that shit out but doesn't that just make sense logically? and you can learn all of this sort of shit online for free.

>I don’t have an “edge”
hey
I want to give you something to think about.
You DO have an edge. You probably don't have an edge over the S&P. You might not make money in excess of the returns of the market at large. But you CAN at least invest your money in a way that achieves that level of return. And when you do that, you have an edge over 99% of people on earth right now.

Only a couple hundred million people have access to high quality US equities with no fees and super-low expenses. The majority of those people chose not to invest suitably in the markets. So just by taking the nice stock market returns that are out there right now, staring you in the face, you are already going to achieve better results than all but a couple million people on earth right now.

The "edge" that you're talking about is just an edge over those very very few people. You can obsess over it, but the important thing is to take advantage of the fantastic position that you're in: all you have to do is keep buying great stocks. That's it, and you're better off than almost all the human beings on the planet in terms of having your money work for you through publicly traded equities.

the key is consistency. anyone can get lucky. without consistency, you have nothing. you have worse than nothing. you're just going to give it all back, hell you may give MORE than it back. i've posted this before but this story really stuck with me, it will likely always stick with me: https://startupbros.com/make-lose-2000000-day-trading-system-story/

you could literally make 2 million and then go to 0, less than your 30k initial investment. let that sink in for a moment. if you make 2 mil and then lose it, did you really ever have 2 mil in the first place? that's why i preach the gospel of going for high probability setups that are tried and tested with historical information, then tested in demo mode, then tested with small amounts of real money, and then you can just scale it up from there pretty easily as long as you keep track of the average volume being traded regularly on whatever your timeframe is. if it works with $1k positions, it should work for $100k positions, know what i mean? no need to rush, patience and discipline are key.

also note that to a certain degree, my posts are for me. the old adage of how you don't really know something unless you can teach it to someone else applies. also if im ever wrong i want to know that and i want to know why so i can improve. at the end of the day we're all just trying to make money, who's right and who's wrong will always ultimately be proven in our balances at the end of the day. the more i can put the odds in my favor, the better. i don't ever want to trade unless i have the best possible odds i can have, with over 7k stocks why should i? that's what screeners like finviz are for. why make it hard on yourself? find stocks that fit your criteria and trade those until they don't, then look for others. simple.

I think AMRN's days as an independent company is numbered. Why? Cause if you knew you had a goldmine at your fingertips you'd be marketing the shit outta it as soon as you could in order to rake in as much Profit as fast as you could. What have we seen post FDA approval? Apart from an interview on CNBC (which said not much of anything) not a thing. It's like the FDA good news never happened. The clock on Profit earning is ticking. 2030 will be here before you know it. It makes since to bag as much as you can while you can. So all this silence kinda means that they don't care much about marketing nor partnerships. I think the deal is getting worked up now. Once the litigation is over with then a formal thing will be announced.

sure, as long as you have a viable thesis for why you're investing on one company over another, and what your exit strategy is, i think that's fine. my major point i made was that it's like MTG and there are many viable strategies that can be profitable. you're just proving my point that you have to find something that fits your personality and lifestyle. some people like me want to quit their jobs and be day traders, some people still want to keep their day job and just be part time traders, some people just want to save for retirement safely and be as passive with their asset management as possible. different strategies work for different styles.

you may find this podcast interesting for the long-term types: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIrKJm8I254 honestly that whole channel is another gem worth bookmarking and checking out all of the material. if you want to be good at trading why not listen to people who are literal professionals and already have been proven successful? makes sense like anything else in life you might want to be good at.

Just a heads up: Beware of Eyedrops Apparently it's the latest weapon of choice to collect an early inheritance by loved ones. Some dude did in his wife to collect 250k via eyedrops. So you know if your wife or whoever tries to "help" you out be on guard. On another note; you'd better stock up on eyedrops quick before they change the formula inside them. no idea who that guy is but anyone who puts up something like making a lot of money quick should put up red flags. the easiest solution is to never spend any money on your financial education. you can learn everything from a combination of google, youtube, investopedia, and backtesting. literally just looking at fucking charts and testing shit out. the question is how well you can predict the future here, literally. if you were clairvoyent and had tomorrow's chart you could be rich very quickly. we use the past and present information to give us the highest probability possible of what will happen in the future.

basically it doesn't really matter who is a scammer and who isn't. what matters is what they give out for free and whether any of it can be of use to you and giving yourself a higher probability of profit. that's all.

Agreed. Use bits and pieces of information you glean from a variety of sources. Don't give anybody any money for exclusive private access extra special courses! And also try not to become a devotee cult follower of any particular youtube trader or twitter shitposter or media personality. Trading is every man for himself endeavour. If anybody tries to sell you the keys to the kingdom, it means it's a scam or the guy is mainly trying to make money from youtube ad revenue. If they were super successful as traders they wouldn't be wasting time trying to be a youtuber, yeah?

speaking of silly rules on 4chan, the dumbest rule is global rule 3. you can get banned for "trolling", which is completely subjective and gives mods a blanket rule to ban for whatever reason they want. even dumber is you have no way to complain about it if you feel mistreated, sending an appeal is like shooting into a black hole and if your ban is "too short" (3 days) you can't even appeal. 3 days is a looong time if you feel mistreated so you should at least always be able to appeal.

[66] And all they that had heard them laid them up in their heart, saying: What an one, think ye, shall this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him. [67] And Zachary his father was filled with the Holy Ghost; and he prophesied, saying: [68] Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; because he hath visited and wrought the redemption of his people: [69] And hath raised up an horn of salvation to us, in the house of David his servant: [70] As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, who are from the beginning:

[69] "Horn of salvation": That is, A powerful salvation, as Dr. Witham translates it. For in the Scripture, by horn is generally understood strength and power.

[71] Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us: [72] To perform mercy to our fathers, and to remember his holy testament, [73] The oath, which he swore to Abraham our father, that he would grant to us, [74] That being delivered from the hand of our enemies, we may serve him without fear, [75] In holiness and justice before him, all our days.

[76] And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways: [77] To give knowledge of salvation to his people, unto the remission of their sins: [78] Through the bowels of the mercy of our God, in which the Orient from on high hath visited us: [79] To enlighten them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death: to direct our feet into the way of peace.

[1] And it came to pass, that in those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that the whole world should be enrolled. [2] This enrolling was first made by Cyrinus, the governor of Syria. [3] And all went to be enrolled, every one into his own city. [4] And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David, [5] To be enrolled with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child.

[6] And it came to pass, that when they were there, her days were accomplished, that she should be delivered. [7] And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him up in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. [8] And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping the night watches over their flock. [9] And behold an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the brightness of God shone round about them; and they feared with a great fear. [10] And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people:

[7] "Her firstborn": The meaning is, not that she had afterward any other child; but it is a way of speech among the Hebrews, to call them also the firstborn, who are the only children. See annotation Matt. 1. 25.

[11] For, this day, is born to you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David. [12] And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. [13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying: [14] Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will. [15] And it came to pass, after the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us go over to Bethlehem, and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath shewed to us.

[16] And they came with haste; and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. [17] And seeing, they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this child. [18] And all that heard, wondered; and at those things that were told them by the shepherds. [19] But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart. [20] And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God, for all the things they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

[21] And after eight days were accomplished, that the child should be circumcised, his name was called JESUS, which was called by the angel, before he was conceived in the womb. [22] And after the days of her purification, according to the law of Moses, were accomplished, they carried him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord: [23] As it is written in the law of the Lord: Every male opening the womb shall be called holy to the Lord: [24] And to offer a sacrifice, according as it is written in the law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons: [25] And behold there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Ghost was in him.

[26] And he had received an answer from the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Christ of the Lord. [27] And he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when his parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, [28] He also took him into his arms, and blessed God, and said: [29] Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word in peace; [30] Because my eyes have seen thy salvation,

[31] Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples: [32] A light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. [33] And his father and mother were wondering at those things which were spoken concerning him. [34] And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother: Behold this child is set for the fall, and for the resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign which shall be contradicted; [35] And thy own soul a sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed.

[34] "For the fall": Christ came for the salvation of all men; but here Simeon prophesies what would come to pass, that many through their own wilful blindness and obstinacy would not believe in Christ, nor receive his doctrine, which therefore would be ruin to them: but to others a resurrection, by their believing in him, and obeying his commandments.

[36] And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser; she was far advanced in years, and had lived with her husband seven years from her virginity. [37] And she was a widow until fourscore and four years; who departed not from the temple, by fastings and prayers serving night and day. [38] Now she, at the same hour, coming in, confessed to the Lord; and spoke of him to all that looked for the redemption of Israel. [39] And after they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their city Nazareth. Anyone else like the look of ITV shares? I think their direction with streaming (britbox) is a good move and they have a reasonable dividend coverage of 1.7.

All Chinese carriers have an ARPU of about 10USD. They all want to increase this value with 5G but it remain to be see whether they can do so. The three carriers plan to cooperate in building new cell towers for 5G era through China Tower (0788.HK).
China Mobile: The largest carrier in China. Operates GSM 2G, TD-SCDMA 3G, LTE 4G and 5G NR network. The TD-SCDMA network is a tricky one because it is a indigenous standard with poor performance and lack of external support or business scale as no one else in the world use it so they're slowly abandoning the network. It used to be pretty useless to users too due to lack of phone support but the current domination of Chinese domestic produced phone have reduced this problem. Have most customers and also most business customers, and is expected to do so because it is almost impossible to change your phone number into other carriers in China. Have best coverage among the three carriers, up to Himalayas and down to the South China Sea. Have relatively close government to government (this doesn't mean the others aren't close), and is currently banned from operate in America because of it. Have weakest fixed broadband service of all three carriers.
China Unicom: GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5GNR carrier. Aka it operate all the world standard network types. If you want to grab a phone and expect it to work on a network then it is most likely to work on Unicom. Usually offer more competitive pricing than China Mobile. I haven't checked how different it will be in tern of their financial performance but you should check that if you're going to invest in it. One of the two major fixed broadband service provider in China with traditional advantage on the north.

China Telecom: CDMA carrier. Market position somewhat similar to Unicom. But the worldwide retirement of CDMA mean they will have to rely on 4G more than other carriers, despite they still haven't announced plans to retire CDMA yet, as equioment supplier and phone makers around the world will gradually stopping support on CDMA too. Situation in Xinjiang could give them a bit trouble when it come to CDMA retirement as 4G service is currently suspended in the area in order to allow the authority to wiretap over wireless signal whenever they like as the design of 4G make it difficult for them to do do, if the situation continues and CDMA force into obscurity according to what rest of the world is planning then they night not be able to offer service in the area. They are one of the two major fixed broadband service provider in China with traditional advantage in the south.

Anyway, the next few years will be period of investment for the three Chinese carriers. They will invest a lot in 5G in a hope that their users will like it, upgrade to 5G and pay more to them. But as said previously, their ARPU aka average monthly income per user is just about 10USD and it is going to be quite steep for their users to upgrade to 5G which could cost them double or more as of current stage so I think their balance sheet might not look that great in upcoming few years.

Fortunately for me, my parents are pretty well-off and saved plenty for retirement. My dad is the reason I know anything about investing. However, living near your parents in their old age is always a good idea.
