Still is disgusting that you need to pay tax on silver usually. In Australia all precious metals are Tax free. We do have to pay capital gains when we sell however that is halved if we own it for over 12 months.

As I have owned my stack for years I will only pay half.

So for example if I make a million dollars profit the capital gain is one million times 50% times the marginal tax rate at 40%

Silver is needed in everything technological, because it is the most thermally AND electrically conductive element in the galaxy, you cannot have future technology without silver and it cannot be replaced by a sub oar metal. Solar panels, cars, computers, phones, medicine, etc all use silver and silver is a finite supply.
More above ground gold than silver, it is more scarce above ground than gold, think about that for a second.
9:1 gold to silver mining ratio
83:1 silver to gold purchasing power
Not only is it direly needed for industrial use, it has outperformed every single stock market index of the past 20 years, it is a better longterm hold and gives more returns than ANY stock market index, you would think the dumbass boomer would notice this because we lived through it.

Don’t tell anyone you’re stacking and don’t worry about Boomers, PMs are the best thing you can EXCHANGE your money for. You’re not spending any money here, you’re even upgrading it for something better than Fiat.

You have to be an idiot not to stack physical precious metals. The world's central banks will print money and issue debt in a vain attempt to escape the next depression (recession is an understatement).

The richest families on Earth are stockpiling gold and silver bullion. Notice how a bunch of CEOs are exiting their companies at this time. They know the music is about to stop and there isn't enough chairs for everyone. The US Treasury Bond is SUB-PRIME.

They will use inflation as a hidden tax to pay for the massive expansion of welfare services and bailouts. The only way to escape this tax is Gold.

yes it does, thats the whole point of PMs is that they hold their buying power in inflation, so while fiats are inflated and only getting you 1/10th of what they used to, PM's will continue to buy what they did when you first bought it making it 10x as valuable as fiat

Honestly anon my personal opinion is crypto is like gambling. You could win big and I mean big like a scratch off lotto ticket but your chances are the same. With PM’s you are buying something that will retain its value and may go up. If we see a currency collapse which seems likely it will give you the ability to eat and trade. Specifically, we will see a new currency issued that will trigger all the hidden usd oversees and domestically to be brought back through proper tax channels. The new xUSD will be gold backed and pegged. It’ll likely be a 1:1 swap or maybe 2:1 as gold is allowed to rise. Once we have the new standard in place, we will no longer need the federal bank cartel, they will be obsolete.
Gold backed money
New currency
National debt paid
Dark money found
Fed obsolete

In case you don’t follow BD Anon, he states that gold is going to $2k/oz and we will see the swap in Q1. Part of Me thinks this will happens as trump will initiate it before chancing an election loss. BD also says Area 51 is manufacturing gold so...

I'm above 100oz in 1oz bullions. Do you think it's worth it to put bullion into capsules to preserve them? I know recognizability is important but idk if I want to drop $100 on capsules. Might help prevent tarnish too tho

If it's convenient for you to do so. It's nice to be organized. Those tubes are like 3$ a piece. You'd need 5 of them. Probably not a bad idea.

>> No.16666182

>>16666089
If you have less than 200 coins than it would be around 40$ or less to get the tubes. You might want to have a freind or a coinshop order the tubes or have then sent to a post office so whoever you buy then from ebay won't know you have your stash.

>> No.16666306

>>16666089
If you feel its too steep, maybe use someone's 3d printer to make some tubes, or use your craftiness and make some yourself, no one really cares about the tube, just the coins, and the tube don't guarantee you that your coins won't get dinged up, if you care about keeping them BU then you're better off using some sleeves or something else.

I have mine in small safes hidden behind book cases, behind walls, in the garden shed etc. Mike maloney said the best thing to do is the hide your main stash and have a big safe in the open to distract thieves which only has a few hundred dollars in it.

Did an end of year price analysis of silver. First I started fifty years ago (Nov 1969 - Nov 2019) and listed every average closing price per year. Then I adjusted for inflation year by year and then I averaged out every adjusted average annual closing price. This resulted in a current average closing price of $15.23. In short you can use that price as a gauge on whether silver is expensive or cheap.

I am about to sleep but I can provide average prices for 25, 20, 10, 5, etc years as well.

If you're using official inflation rates then earlier years prices will seem much lower than they are.

Realistically when silver touched 50 in 1980 it was basically like 500 in todays money due to how cheap food and housing was.

Keep your gold

The problem that these ratio plebs don't consider or ignore is that when the AU/AG raito starts to tighten it very well may be next to impossible to get your hands on an oz of gold.
The local dealers wont have anything and even if they do they wont sell to you unless you know them very well and have been using them for volume for years.
and the online dealers will sell out of gold quick.
there is going to be a shortage.

Gold is King, hold it
Silver is readily available, sell your dog to the chinese before selling your gold for more.

that's 100% true in the long-term. However, massive inflation is not carried over instantaneously to prices of assets in fiat. Countries with huge inflation rates (parts of africa, argentina, etc) are proof of this: Even when the currency gets devalued 30% in a matter of days, this eventually gets carried over to prices, but it takes a few days/weeks even months depending on the kind of good. That should give you a window to buy something if you sell and buy very quickly.
However, unless an incredible opportunity surfaced, i'd still hodl on my gold.

/biz/ should I cast more of the thicker rounds or the thinner coin sized ingots? My silver concentrates are around 95% silver and the rest is gold I cant remove without better chemicals. My main job is prospecting for new deposits, I ll usually spend about 90% of my summer driving around the province between different properties and Vancouver dropping off samples for assey. I do a bit of small scale mining on my properties if I have time or go placer mining if there is nothing else on the table. This year sucked badly for exploration work so I spent the summer mining instead. Hopefully I can make a good return on the concentrates this time around.
