How do I into dividends? I think that Vanguard may have like an ETF, but i'm unsure. I save a lot and besides investing in VOO just want to see what works for other anons.

I have no issues with coiners or non-coiners and PM nibbas, i assume the smart bizrealis have multiple types of investments besides crypto. So no real hate for other investments. Please don't argue in the thread too much just looking for solid advice.
I have 5k in vanguard and will be able to invest $800 - 1k now that i am not paying rent.

>Vanguard
50-50 mix of Total Bond Index (VBLX) and Total International Bond Index (VTABX)
Alternatively, look at Target Retirement Income (VTINX) for inspiration (pic related). That's the fund Vanguard automatically transfers your money into after the Target Retirement 2040/2045/2050/etc. funds hit their target years.

Thanks m8 I was also looking into the international market so I will take a look at those too. I invested in VOO but got spooked by the whole fed liquidity stuff and wanted to save what I invested so i'm sitting in cash waiting for a dip. I'll screenshot this post, appreciate it

do yourself a favor and look at dividend yield.

>>16635136
recommended MO, previously Philip Morris. yields 6.61% while KO only yields 2.97%.

EDIV is a dividend ETF, currently yields 7.44%. SDIV, another dividend ETF, currently yields 8.37%

With both of the ETFs you're pretty much beating the market on dividends alone. And given that both the dividend ETFs have hit relative lows, you have a greater chance of appreciation in a bear market than with cyclical stocks. That being said, >>16635136 recommended more protective stocks as is. Though MO would be a good long term hold if you're operating under the assumption they will break into cannabis when the fed lets up on it. Course you have the dumb faggot millennials SJW investing so it may not appreciate as much as something like an EV large cap or some green energy bullshit.

MO is a value trap you newb. You haven't wondered why it's in a constant downtrend? You will get the dividend but lose principal. I swear this board is so fucking stupid sometimes.

>"investing" in value traps

How dividends actually work:
>own a stock
>stock pays a 3% dividend
>stock price drops 3% the next day
>you reinvest the dividend in the stock
>net stock value is the same for you
>YOU PAY TAXES ON THE DIVIDEND
>you lost money, faggot.

Only chase dividends in a non-taxable account or use
them as a source of income (not DRIP)

harsh but I will take this advice into account anon.
>source of income
do you mean keeping and not reinvesting the dividend you receive? because i'd like to get into dividends as a stream of income.
i am a great saver but not a savvy investor
