ETH is objectively better that BTC yet it's only up 20% since last December vs 100% BTC. What is going on?

Smart contracts, DeFi, dApps, can be used as a layer to build upon vs store of value. I'm just not seeing your angle.

Monetary policy. Also BSV doesn't require every node to do every computation. ETH does and can't scale. BSV scales, massively.

I will explain it to you fucko.

ETH has been (and still is) a fucking amateur hobby project of some russki dope addict with inflated self-esteem.

being first of the kind takes this shit, no matter how badly designed and implemented, to the moon, and we have seen even fucking kitties in it.

However, lots of really smart, well-educated people with no-bullshit PhDs have been hired to do real shit since then.

There are literally tens of in-house and opensource (most notably - iohk.io) implementations of so-called third generations of block chains with black jack and hookers.

You see, Ivan, your time is finished. Serious people have taken this shit over, and you, with your fucking vitalik and sergay have to go back.

I hope you will understand a third of what I am saying. Now fuck off.

To the uninitiated ETH absolutely looks better than BTC because functionality. I'm at least explaining why it's better still despite it being a shitcoin. Maybe if you stfu you might learn something for once. Like why BSV is superior in every way.

I agree I don't like the premine and the fact that it can be mined infinitely right now but I feel the pros outweigh the cons. As for bitcoin the only big pro I see is deflationary currency but also china has such a huge stake. Premine and 1 city having over 50% of production are both bad. ETH would revolutionize finance if no black swan gets in the way.

It hasn't been around as long. This caused some custodial solutions to feel hesitant to buy anything but BTC, as it is one of the only coins that has been around this long and is this widely used.

Also, most retail traders are retarded and couldn't tell you the difference between LTC and ETH, other than Litecoin has the word "coin" in it, so they think it must be worth more.

REmember, most people are in this space because they are reject doomers of society and this is their ONLY WAY to make it. Most people in here aren't that smart. The smart people are here because they realize the middle class will forever shrink due to automation. Our future frictionless society will need smart contracts to function in order to eliminate as many middleman as possible. The smart boys are in ETH.

ETH is absolutely a game changer, in theory. But I don’t blame the market for crushing it when they can’t get their shit together with something as basic as an issuance policy. Then there’s perpetual scaling research that never seems to go anywhere, and the launch of a new network that is thinly veiled dumpster fire. Plus the s o y infused communist culture and cliquey dismissal of any promising work that isn’t proposed by the core fuck boys. I guess when it comes down to it, the worst thing about ethereum is the people

I think ETH will be really successful but won't have a high price. I use the Ethereum network almost every day but I doubt I spend more than 1 ETH per year. Most of the supply is held by rent seekers who don't actually use it for anything besides speculating... thinking they're gonna dump on a someone else later who REALLY needs it. Chart looks like shit too.

Soii boyz are definitely present in the blockchain community. I think the thing people need to realize is that the method they use to break off of society (blockchain) also has great use for the based bros who want to break off from society. People on both sides feel the central powers which control everything need to have some of their power taken away, and blockchain can do that.

that has to be one of the weirdest criticisms leveraged at ethereum
it's permissionless anon, you can build on it without asking anyone anything. i make smart contracts for a living and i've never been to a blockchain conference
now if you spam github with retarded EIPs altering the base protocol for no tangible gain except to yourself, you're going to get shot down

this is the realistic take. I'm an eth maxi but mostly for the tech and by default (there's no other truly open sc platform). but there's no viable business model to the whole thing, shortterm or longterm
incidentally this answers op's question: consider the possibility that while bitcoin may be overvalued by 100x, ethereum may be overvalued by 20x. when markets are purely speculative, they don't follow any sort of rationality. eth could go down to $10 with btc reaching $20k again

ETH is useful shit, but if a lot of people sell, and a lot of people buy, the price won't move. That's why I hold more BTC than ETH, even though I use eth a lot more often.
