Where can I make an investment? And how does that make money for me? Say I invest $100, the value grows to $150. I sell $50 of it off and can use that?

You can buy stocks. And yes you could sell off parts of your investment and use that, or the stocks might also pay dividends a few times a year. It's probably better to not sell off parts of your investment though, and to reinvest any dividends you get. That way it can grow for years, unless you need the current income. Look at the /smg/ OP for info. Avoid crypto scams.

By buying stocks that pay dividends. They change up though so if you’re not willing to check on which ones discontinued their dividends just buy a dividend yielding etf with a low expense ratio. .08 and below.

A really good book that covers a lot of areas of personal finance is The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton. I'd say it's an essential. Also if you want to learn about what is probably the best way to invest, just look into index funds.
