BSV is about to hardfork again. That makes it what, the 4th time? haha. a fork of a fork of a fork. I don't think celvin and creg has the steam to survive this time. Looks like they are having big issues with unconfirmed chain transactions that are stuck too

This “hardfork” is an upgrade, and the final one at that. Once genesis is complete the protocol is locked in. It’s done.

I can’t name one other viable coin that is done, scales, has a notable app dev presence, and a notable amount of transactions taking place daily.

Removing P2SH does not make it "incompatible". P2SH addresses will still be able to create spend outputs, but miners will block P2SH addresses from receiving. There are many better methods for multisig than P2SH.

>>16617041
>>16616847
Seemingly, the 100mb+ blocks that have been mined on chain didn't cause orphaning issues. Let alone, Orphans/Reorgs are a part of Nakamoto Consensus, take your boogeyman talking points elsewhere. With secure 0-conf this doesn't matter, once your transaction is in the mempool, oh no a reorg, now your transaction is back in the mempool. BTC miners will still have a fair amount of profitability but its going to dwindle down to Mining Ops in 3rd world countries. Most people in the US won't survive, most Europeans are already out, China will survive because their rainy season (April-june iirc) will allow for lower electricity cost, but after that they will face 3-4 cents per kwhr. Only with the latest mining tech will companies survive, but capex is through the roof with mining.

The only way BSV survives is if they get some serious transaction volume. nChain is being unironic when they say their competition is Visa/MC/etc, the current level of transactions across all blockchain platforms is a drop in the bucket globally

>> No.16617375

>>16617283
Well I do think we can offset the block subsidy by the time we reach the halvening, but it's going to take some large transaction volume to get there. Doable, but hard. We need Genesis to get there and companies like UNISOT to start taking off and stacking serious volume onchain. I'll agree that BTC is absolutely fucked if the price continues to trend downward.

Orphans are how the network scales and operates. That's what other projects like BCH ETH etc don't get. It's competitive. You don't care if every node survives, the weak ones die and the ones that can keep up continue to grow. Proof of work ensures this constant competition continues.

no, see this actually shows they don't get it. You don't put in things like preconsensus, different rewards for orphans or any of that. That all assumes you want to try to avoid orphans. The truth is, orphans are needed to punish incompetent miners and to keep the system competitive and robust.

Honest question. I've been accumulating for a while. But I've been wondering do you think BSV will crash before it rises due to BTC eventually dying? Or will the transition be gradual that now is a good time to buy? Been considering selling to buy in lower if it's a flash crash type of situation

They are removing a bunch of garbage and restoring OP_codes Core removed. The protocol is complete and it'll scale as intended. There won't be need for anymore upgrades or forks after Genesis outside bug fixes. If BTC EVER hopes to scale even a little bit they are going to have to fork. Thank fucking god the people in charge don't want that and the people who buy BTC are fucking idiots so no upgrade will ever occur.
