always pissed me off so much. Bouncing around in front of a camera, shouting about random shit while flapping your hands around lile a retard is not, was never, and never will be a 'creative' enterprise. Actual creatives have their nose to the grindstone bringing interesting new shit into the world, not clickfarming with provocative video thumbnails.

Then you are doing it, huh?
10 minutes is multiplied by many takes, many script iterations and a massive risk of failure.
Most content creators do multiple videos per week and work non-stop.
You would know this if you weren't an armchair critic.

the only youtubers who rely on ad money are the ones too small to get money from the good sources

In all honesty, countless channels are going to be purged by COPPA on January 1st because their targeted viewers were children. Vidya, anime, animated movies, toys, meme.

Culling strengthens the herd so now they're going to have to actually create original content.

Is YouTube going to have an option to flag videos on videos violating COPPA?

I want to do my part.

Right, so the only way they actually make money is by farming popularity and then selling their fans off to big brands via paid product placement and shoutouts for referralbux. The whole thing is just an incestuous popularity contest circlejerk with cash payouts to whoever can get the most zoomers jerking off to them at once.

No creativity, no value creation. Just farming rep and selling it in batches to ad firms.

10 minute videos for the sake of ad revenue are cancer, but there are some gems out there. Like the Astartes channel that puts out studio level warhammer 40k animation but doesn't monetize anything.

>> No.16600453

>>16600405
I wasn't arguing their profitability you nard. I was taking issue with the 'creator' label they push so hard. They're not even 'creating' social or material value really, they just cultivate popularity and trade it in for adsense bucks and product placement payouts. The end result being that they get rich which gullible zoomers buy overpaid branded consumer trash because their favorite fortniter shilled it. Good for them for getting rich, but they are not fucking creatives.

This is why youtubers need to start monetizing with BAT by becoming verified on Brave. They won't have to sell their souls and make click-baity ass trash videos anymore. They can be themselves and get paid in BAT by contributions and tips.

This is actually true. Russia will maintain their land free of fagotry and feminism whilst the west slowly sinks. The robots and drones alone will not be enough to protect from the hordes of DGAF hardened ruskies. This will not play out in our lifetime though, further work needs to be done to become independent from the global payment system and China is another variable to deal with.

The west are so pacified and turbo beta mode it's scary desu.

It's more that the kind of people who seek validation through streaming online already have fragile egos and cop to the online vitriol worse than most people.
Also, wagies don't understand that when you're self-employed there's you don't have consistancy in pay cheques, the funny thing about Youtubers is they're still suckling at the corporate overlord teat without the consistancy of a wagie.
sucked in!
>>16599477
Video making does take an assload more time than most people realize. For every minute of screen time there's probably 30 minutes of work that goes into it. Youtubers and Twitchers save a lot of time by not having a rehearsed script, but there's still editing through all their shitty ad-libs, then in the case of Youtube transcoding the video and uploading it to Youtube. Then spending a few hours writing inane platitudes to the morons that are their fans, trying to sound 'genuine' 'on brand' and 'engaging'.
This is after they've already set up their lighting rig, camera rig, microphones and all the other shit.
If you can make content more easily, fucking DO IT! Free money or at least publicity for your side hustles.

Yeah, it's great that now by uploading a video some 55 year old boomer gets to decide if content is or isnt for 12 or 13 year olds (unsolvable grey area).

Funny how they pass those laws catering the low IQ masses with good ole "let's save the children narrative", just like how they pass mass spying laws because "muh terrorists".

As far as reporting, you would be entering a legal area, just like reporting for copyright, so good luck with that. Also FTC has no power outside of the Murrica anyway, and they will only enforce it on obvious ABC tier stuff, otherwise they know it's too much of a grey area. The moment someone pushes them in court about this bullshit notion of a YT channel being "an operator of a website" they will lose, they know this because this is the entire overreach scheme they have built, so they can't take chances.
