they don't have to kill something thats already dead. i think satoshi thought he had created the end all be all of crypto with btc but unfortunately it was only just the beginning. it never could scale and never will. so this might sound crazy but we are actually all early to this game. if PoS proves successful then it's a whole new ballgame.
