Just wondering about a specific example of how this will might be written. I will be an heir of a relative. This relative was single and lets say as an example had $800,000 to leave the heirs of which there are 8 nieces and nephews in three families. One family had four siblings. One survives, one was single and is deceased and two were married and deceased with living widows. Another family has two living heirs and the third had two heirs one deceased and the other surviving.

I was trying to guess how they will divide the money.

If all were living each would get $100k, easy, done but with the description above I was guessing deceased siblings bequest gets divided evenly among their family survivors/widows rather than deceased heirs portion going back into the whole and being divided among the whole. is this likely the way most do it?

Just write it on paper, slic your thumb, and sign the paper in blood. It'll hold up in court. Trust me
