Imagine this with me /biz/:

>each of these generations lost almost all their money

This is what I came up with these days and I understood just how much far back the failure goes. So really don't deceive yourself and do the deed to save yourself from suffering.At least that's what I am going to do soon.

people used to have 5-10 kids and even if they 'made' it, they could only inherit the bulk of wealth to 1 or 2 of the oldest kids. They always had more kids than wealth to go around (the reverse boomers).
Bottom line, I come from a long line of middle kids or youngest black sheep kids and that's that. The few of my lineage who managed to make a good business and own land were unlucky enough to be waltzed the fuck down and expropriated by the red army at the end of WW2.

most coiners will make it, but few will pass their wealth on to the next generation - 99% of people will start thinking of how to spend it. 75% (ish) of lottery winners end up bankrupt - its not how much money you have, its your mentality.

first of all, capitalism where everybody has a chance to make it only started about 100 years ago.

before that the wealth was concentrated in the hands of few nobles who only transmitted wealth by blood and if a peasaant tried to make it they'd just assassinate him.

then once capitalism started again some had more chances than others to make it but that's like 3 - 5 generations behind.

that's why everything is in our hands now.
also for example my gramp was rich, but he had 9 kids, the big brother took 80 percent and left nothing for my parents no inheritance, then he himself had 6 kids so the wealth was divided and those kids were spoiled and burned it all, now all they have are houses and alot of kids who don't have anything
