You’ll need around $150-200k to buy a business that isn’t very high risk. And you will need a loan - that will cover around 10%. You want a business which has a minimum of 3 years of profitability (the most recent 3), preferably with 10%+ growth YoY, and at least $1MM in revenue. Cash flow should be enough to get you what you need to survive and pay off your loan, and preferably have some left over to dump into the business. Looking for a cash flow of probably 250-350k. But most importantly you need the businesses weaknesses to align with your strengths so you actually can come in and kick some ass. At the same time you need to know what the business strengths are so you don’t lose those - you either need to have them or have a plan for how to cover them. If a business was built off its former owner (eg that person sells to all their friends, or maybe they’re an amazing networker and are a personal account manager but you are a neet incel), stay the fuck away because you can never be that person.

Anything else that you buy is more risky than dumping money into crypto or at the very least at 30k maybe you can buy a $300k business it’s going to be a dud that you likely can’t grow unless you get extremely lucky and more than likely has very low cash flow so you’ll be poor.
