>felt lost and dropped out uni at 18
>messed around but got sick of it all
>took up math foundation courses and dabbled in programming this year, been doing surprisingly great

really think I can do well in a cs/math degree but how do employers view people who graduate ~5 years later than normal people?

No, it is not too late @ 23.
There are good number of people who are 27+ in Uni.
Employers don't give a fuck at what age did you get your degree.
They care about the work you can do for them, what can you contribute so-to-speak.
That being said, you better grad with 1st Class honours, you goddamn late bloomer

failed HS then went on to fail Tech. Waged for 10 years or so doing various different things. Went graduated uni at 32 and haven't looked back. Currently doing a master at 37 cos i miss the learning and my wage cuck job only offers so much in terms of mental stimulation. It is never too late anon. never.

Anon, I did the same as you. I dropped out and ended up going back at 26 years old. Going to back to university unironically changed my life. I am doing something I actually have an interest in, because I have an interest it is far easier to learn about it. Despite being in progress, I've landed myself a decent job in IT and I believe studying IT is what gave me the advantage.
Imo - I believe that studying later in life may be viewed as more respectable than earlier. Especially in some fields like IT, since so much has changed in even half a decade.

OP's graph is based on having kids.

having young kids is stressful
Having grown kids is comfy.

Look at the job market and the student debt repayment.

I started again at 26. I had to do charity work to get references.

Now married, kid, degree, job, car, a little savings, working on my own business
