Allegedly the entire wikipedia size including all languages text, images and videos is 200 TB. That is honestly nothing when you can get a 1TB hard drive for like $30 today. So storage is extremely cheap. Server hosting is a lot more expensive but even if 0.1% of people donated $15 they would still have millions of dollars since pretty much everyone in the world uses wikipedia.
