How are you guys preparing for when you make it in a few years?

I think I'm going to start reading some books on gardening and how to grow your own vegetables and weed. Would be nice to learn the guitar too. I feel like I should start these things now so it's not a sudden mental shift of going from a wage slave to not having to "work" for a paycheck.

I already made it. I went back to work because I was depressed and needed some structure in my life. "Making it" is mostly a meme. Sure if you're poor and working a shitty wagecuck job, having money will help, but you should use the freedom that money gives you to learn new skills or get a degree and work in an area that interests you.

I agree with you. By "making it" I don't mean becoming a deadbeat weed smoking novice guitar player and not really doing much. It's more about being able to progress in what really interests you without having the need to make money from it. It will take a huge mental shift once it happens because it's all we ever know and taught growing up. Work work work for the money.
