sure but its still silver/gold that can be re-poured into something of similar value(melt value). paper fiat cash turns into ash. and I'll play devils advocate and bring up two more points. keeping cash in a fire-proof safe is nice but there is no such thing as being completely fire proof. just need to make sure its rated to keep its contents unburned long enough for the house fire to be put out. do you trust that? and keeping money in banks, I don't believe that if and when the time comes where I'd need to pull all my money out along with hundreds of other people, that the banks will actually allow that to happen.
