I have my seed phrase in a jumbled order I'll remember, plus, two words swapped out for two other words from the seed list. Have it written down like this and hidden at a couple people's houses.

I've done both. It's good to keep a copy in your brain just in case the physical copy disappears.
Use the major system and put the images into a memory palace. Creating a story somewhat helps as well and it doesn't take long at all. I only had to spend 30ish minutes to convert the 24 word string into memory. (Obviously it helps if you have a vivid imagination) but I firmly believe that anyone can do it in < 1 hour. If you have a lot of crypto, do it!
