>Researcher Breaks Mimblewimble, Deanonymizing 96% of Grin Transactions

>The Mimblewimble privacy technology used by cryptocurrencies such as Beam and Grin is broken. That’s the claim of researcher Ivan Bogatyy who has published a report documenting his findings. In it, he reveals how he was able to deanonymize 96% of all Grin transactions just by running a node at a cost of around $60. Bogatyy asserts that the flaw is fatal, effectively breaking Mimblewimble.

Ironbelly for iphone
file transactions working, ip transactions working, tor transactions working, fast and cheap, inflation not undermining the value of the coin, proof of work...
but yea vaporware?
just buy 1 if you dont think it's good. a lottery ticket is a dollar and you have less chance of getting anything out of it.

that's a BS article. Only IPs are danonymized. An IP doesn't tell you who someone is. It's not a discovery. In every crypto you can scrape the IPs of everyone node on the network. Everybody has always known that. Just use an IP that isn't linked to your address. Just use tor or some shit.

not even a suicide stack.
its just logical.
i bought eth cheap with my link moon money (bought link at 17cents)
then i sold the eth for grin. the grin mooned 60% in the last 2 weeks and then dumped with bitcoin.
logic says : grin had a higher price in the past
grin regularly expands and contracts with volatility (this is a good thing)
grin is a privacy focused coin which is still in development
grin is working and has a purpose.
if i could have 10k grin i would.
Grin will be worth between 20 and 100 dollars in 2 years.

its a known issue and is addressed in the white paper.
it'll be resolved with development.
incase you were wondering an anonymous donation of 50 bitcoin was given to aid grin development and fulfil the goals in the white paper

It reveals the sending and receiving address but not the amount sent.

>Although the attack does not reveal the amounts being sent, it unveils which addresses are sending funds to other addresses, effectively rendering Mimblewimble obsolete, if a patch cannot be found. Moreover, Bogatyy claims had he been running multiple nodes, he would have been able to record an even higher success rate than the 96% he posted.

I'm a programmer retard. I know everything about computers, whereas you don't. An IP doesn't tell you who someone is.

First of all, you gotta subpoena the ISP to get the info. Second of all, just run all your traffic through TOR or any other IP anonymizer, like a simple proxy.

Also IP anonymization could every well be built into the node in the future. Only reason they haven't done it yet is cause it's one fucking dude working on it and it's not a priority cause just fucking use TOR.

Congratulation on getting BTFOed brainlet.
