Yeah that's the whole point Mr. 200 IQ. Consumers are no longer spending on home renovation or new/upgraded appliances.

Look at the most recent US retail data. Analysts called it a win because overall was 0.3% growth (imagine thinking 0.3% is a "win"). But looking closer the only reason why it was a positive change is because of food, gas, and auto-related expenses. In other words only the essentials. Meanwhile furniture, electronics, appliances, building / garden supplies, sporting goods, hobby stores, musical instruments, books and clothing all significantly contracted. Hell even food service / bars contracted. People are cutting back on non-essentials.

Speaking of, this just out lol

, but to make it more clear:
equity valuation isn't equal to the actual productive strength of the economy. In general, if the economy is more productive, equity prices (in real terms) will rise. But it is possible that asset valuations can become overvalued, even if the underlying economic health doesn't have any major problems.
So betting on a short-term pullback in equity prices isn't the same as betting against the economic activity of the world. It's just a position that sees current valuations as too high.
hope it makes sense :)

another way to say it:
the stock market indices ARE NOT the economy.

Nice. I would imagine that they're actually in negotiation talks now since there were rumors earlier this year of Pfizer's interesting in buying. Also I read that Amarin is likely looking over tender offers. I would've thought that a buyout would happen before December 28th, but do you anons think that it is smarter for the big companies to wait until after the FDA meeting?
Maybe news will break this Friday. I don't see why any of the big drug companies would want to miss out on Vascepa/REDUCE-IT especially with the results they've had.

Sure, maybe for a whole project they get a computer literate dude to preorder lumber, but then they're going to a real lumber yard.
There isn't a business case. If they're going for a box of nails, HD is selling a box of nails. No need to invest in online preordering and a wagie to run and get it and losing the option of upselling or adding additional shit.

You gravely underestimate the disney fanaticism in adults that was subliminally instilled into their minds as impressionable young children. You also gravely underestimate the amount of disposable income they have that they readily throw at Disney. Disney isnt just a company anymore. Disney IS peoples childhoods. Its young girls princess fantasies, now grown up and desperate for the comfort in wine and a disney film. Given the fact that every single half decent film disney has ever produced is now ready and available at the click of a mouse, with bonus features, and pulling that content from Netflix, Disney+ is going to be just fine.

** Shares of drugmaker slip 6.6% to $22.44, set to post its worst day in 3 months

** AMRN's Vascepa fails to meet a post-marketing study's main goal of reducing low attenuation plaque, a large, unstable type of arterial plaque

** However, the drug meets secondary goals

** Co presented 9-month interim Vascepa data at American Heart Association scientific conference; study to continue for 9 more months

** Brokerage Roth Capital Partners says markets are reacting unfairly as experts emphasized the importance of achieving secondary goals; Roth says main goal results will likely improve over rest of trial period

** Vascepa, a omega-3 fatty acid-based treatment, won U.S. approval in 2012 to lower high levels of triglycerides

** Last week, FDA expert panel voted unanimously to expand Vascepa's label based on a separate trial

** Acasti up 6.9%, and Matinas up 20.6%, are also developing omega-3 fatty acid-based treatment to lower triglycerides

** AMRN has risen 66% YTD (Reporting by Ruhi Soni)

I remember some Anon asking last friday if AMD puts were a good idea. Told him it was a bad idea and whoever was stupid enough to do this in this clown market deserves to be fucked.

As as some Anon pointed out yesterday, there might really be a short squeeze coming soon.

I'm gonna enjoy my gains meanwhile.

AMD assrapes Intel with no lube on all fronts, but that isn't the reason.

Chances are it has to do with a potential short squeeze incoming since lots of short positions got fucked when AMD reported its last earnings and stock price went up (instead of down as usual). That, in combination with momentum, everybody and their mother raising target prices on the stock and AMD being VERY confidant in their outlook towards 2020.

At least that's how I would puzzle it together.

Yes. My broker has different fees for different countries and there is currency conversion to take into consideration. Also market trading hours. Also different tax systems.

I'm in the UK and like trading US stocks because the fees are tiny meaning taking small profits are more feasible and they trade 5 hours behind for me so 2:30pm - 9pm which is ideal because I'm able to monitor that shit and adjust my positions. I wage slave and don't want to try and time shit and do quick research on a phone while working.

UK is fucking stupid system in comparison. I pay about six times as much in fees and taxes to buy stock which means you really have to want something and generally hold it. It is most suitable for long term prospects and shit you intend to sit on. Also shit like our most volatile stocks tend to trade in timed sessions (like 4) throughout the day, rather than constant feedback and market data the order book builds and builds and then ... wham shit either goes through or doesn't and the price adjusts to reflect the new average.

You get massive fucking spread ... like a $1.50 so you've no idea on what to bid, again making it a longer term investment.
