It has fun moments. I'd say it's like a job you really love. It's often very fun but it still has terrible low points. The highs are high, the moments when they smile and make you happy are the best times ever. When they resist discipline is frustrating like you tell them not to do something and they do it anyway.

I would say it's like 70% fun and feels good and like 30% intense frustration and problems.

Biggest thing is how much work it is. I really underestimated it. Its like a second job, 10 diaper changes per day, put clothes on them every day, bathe them every day. Give them 3 meals every day and give them a bottle multiple times a day. If you take your eye off them for even 20 seconds they could kill themselves.

Ultimately making a child is the best thing I will ever do. Make SURE you have a great woman as the mom. If you make a bad woman pregnant you're gonna go through decades of pain. All their shitty qualities they will impress onto the kid.

Got two kids, overall it’s great, but also demanding if you don’t want to be a shit parent. Don’t rush it, had my first kid with 40 (yes, I’m that fucking old). Being an elder parent gives you patience, financial stability, and you already had enough of your own time to be happy with a change in responsibility. Your partner needs to match well though, and you need to be a good team. The first year can be very demanding in terms of how much support they need. If your relationship isn’t bulletproof, stuff can go south really fast. Both parents need to give, but you also need to cover your partner as well as the kid.

So, can recommend, but only if you are not a poor crackhead with severe issues and a shitty relationship.
