You're a product of your environment and your habits.
That's not to say you're helpless, but you have to reprogram yourself indirectly. You're not your own slave.

A lot of advice on this subject is garbage because most people who have their shit together don't really know why they do. They assume it's because they're just naturally Better people but that's usually not the case. The inverse is also true, most people who are disfunctional don't really understand why they're disfunctional.
We're generally very bad at understanding ourselves and we invent post-hoc narratives to explain our situation and our actions that assume far more agency than most people actually possess.

Don't get me wrong, it is possible to brute force yourself into a functional state.
The "JUST DO IT" philosophy.
A lot of people revere that particular method because it's such a pure redemption-via-willpower archetype.
The problem is that it's not a workable method for the vast majority of us.

It sounds dramatic but you need to evaluate your situation like an addict.
No one ever gets clean by continuing to hang out in the same places, interacting with the same people, doing the same things.

Admit that you've lost control of your life, and start very seriously evaluating the parts of it that you need to change. Your relationships, your living environment, what you spend your time doing.
You need to take steps to change your environment for the better.

Small incremental practices of habit is necessary too but you can't do anything like that without changing your environment first.

As long as you don't live with your parents/family your doing it better than 1/3 of the adult UK population. That doesn't even start to include people on bennies who get their houses paid for.

Start vaping, drinking, and taking pre-workout. Listen to trap/hustler/mack rap music and start working out. Do this every single day, and you can be just like me kid.
