Is living in a trailer park as really white trash as Hollywood makes it seem? I know Florida has a ton of trailer parks, but then again it's Florida.

I'm 24, make ~$2,500 a month after taxes, and will likely never improve as I only have a GED.

I'm thinking of buying a trailer in a trailer park as it'll suit my shitty life well. Looking at a mobile home community about 30 miles from my job. It seems to be mostly older retired people but a few single Moms with kids and normal looking people. All the yards looked well kept and didn't seem white trash at all. But they have a rule where trailers older than 20 years aren't allowed in the park. Would I be better off buying a cheap home around here instead? Probably couldn't afford more than $150K through a mortgage and that would get me a crack den or 900 square foot home that doesn't even insulation or heat.

I really don't want to be a rent cuck for life. I rent a home right now. Can't even paint my walls without getting permission first. Can't plant fruit trees or grow a garden. I feel like I'm paying $850/month for somebody to tell me how to live. I don't want to move into an apartment having to deal with the noise of neighbors, no garage for my little boat, no land to grow a garden, etc. It would be like jail.

Why not just buy a home?

Trailer parks are okay, it depends on the park. Some are nice, some are shit.

The problem is trailers age and fall apart quickly where as a good home can last 50years.

Just get a mortgage on a 3br 150k home. Live in it and rent out 2 bedrooms.

I couldn't be bothered.

I could possibly find a 3 bed 1 bath home under $150K but no way I'd rent out spare rooms and share a bathroom with 2 people. If I can find a 3 bed 2 bath that sounds like a good idea. Thanks.
