Imagine being so short you have to post threads like this

If you didn't have trade workers to build your shit, you'd live in a fucking third-world commune and eat bugs. Look at the rest of the world to get a good idea of low-skilled labor without quality or safety standards, then be thankful you exist only through the hard work of others.

my landlord/friend is a trade worker. he's 26, has his machining ticket, owns his house and several vehicles. He provides his labor to a shop and they compensate him relatively well. I get to profit off his labor as well by living cheaply in his house, using his giant tv, playing his VR setup, and smoking the weed we grow. The job he has takes up a lot of time, but it has lead him to a lot of good things and he has enough money saved up now that could NEET for a couple years if he wanted to, but he wants to maintain his lifestyle.

The idea of well paid manual labor attracts a lot of undesirable types but there's something to be said about having the berth of knowledge required to understand most the world's processes in a mathematical level and work backwards and determine how X thing was probably built.

anyways shit thread.

This desu. I'm not a trade worker, but I'm thankful that some people do it. And it's probably more fun than being an average office wagie.

$40 an hour, 40 hours a week. Buck a minute on overtime

tradies often know a lot of engineering fundamentals but they don't do it for a living because it's a fucking bitch and there's so much more number crunching and reviewing and school. just let someone else take the money for the design and figuring out the bore diameter vs material requirements vs cost function and let me machine punch the holes for 32 bucks an hour.

i'm a tradie and a top 100 link holder

I worked 6 and a half hours today, got paid for 8, and was home by 2:30 pm.

How's your 9-5 cubicle with tedious office politics though?
