Set up a payment plan with the hospital. You don't want to open a line of credit on a card, only do it if you can absolutely make the payments. Also consider health insurance. I pay like $50/mo and have a $1000 deductable, although it's through my employer.

In total hospital stay was around 110K before coverage and adjustments. I've saved most pay confirmations so I'm hoping to do medical deductions come tax season but I've never done this before. Only for the 4,500 or so out of my pocket. But I'm fucked for now.

I was never officially diagnosed since there isn't really a screening for it, but they suspected it was hanta or seoul virus. I live in a city and take the subway regularly, so I suspect I got it from a rodent that way. That's the only thing that makes sense really.

By the time I had showed up, red dots started appearing over my hands and feet because my iron levels were dropping dramatically. Then my oxygen levels later.
