Riddle me this. 56% of Americans in 2001 considered themselves as third generation Americans meaning that their great-grand parents came after WW1 and have no connection the 17th, 18th, 19th century America. In 2019 it’s probably more. How can a country defend itself when it’s people don’t have roots in it ?

I have ancestors who were here in 1609 in VA...others recorded in the very first census in 1790 in NY. Others still came here in 1912....1924....etc. It's a bit of a mess.
