I recently tried to get into buying coin when I started my new job and my credit card kept getting declined /bmo/

I looked it up and what I found was Leaf banks /panic/ starting to shut down access to coin through websites like coinbase / binance

the only real way to buy coin in LeafLand now is through Canadian run websites that offer coin through private markets that work on interac e-transfer individuals that then you have to trust to send you coin

From what I had read online few credit unions still allowed coin purchases but for the most part all major Canadian banks had blocked interac & credit on all coin websites this was maybe 5-7 months ago

As an American who uses TD, I've never had any issues. In fact, they're probably the easiest real bank to buy crypto with, they never ask questions

call the bank, they automatically block all crypto transactions by default (fraud prevention)
you have to explicitly approve the transaction
reference the declined payment when calling in

also you're limited to $3,000 e-transfer daily limit and $12,000 weekly limit
otherwise you'll have to wire money over if you want to exceed those limits
keep that in mind

It's your bank rejecting the payments. I had the same issue with mine, I called and said I'm switching banks unless they let the payment through. You can always just use Kraken's IPP method though.
