It depends. In London? Eh, ok. In rural France? Yes, definitely. Working five hours a week? Fantastic. 50? Eh, ok. It all depends.

In Belgium, 7k euro after tax is probably slightly above average. Nothing special.

I make 80k after tax and live in Corfu, it's pretty lit.

thats net.
Non euroboy probably means brutto.
I'm Belgian, lived in Paris and Germany. Had a job at 4.8k in Germany and that was pretty good already.
7k is very nice for Europe everywhere.
Sure in Paris it is just ok, similar for Munich and maybe one of the few very rich cities spread around Europe but for everywhere else including Brussels, 7k is very nice. You will have a lot of beer and wafflemoney.
Check if you get a car (that very often happens in Belgium, it's a pretty retarded policy) and a 13th month (basically an end of year bonus)

To be serious for a second, 7000 EUR places you well above 200% of the average salary. However, you will only keep 3600 EUR after taxes, which is still good... but maybe with this in mind it's not worth moving to Belgium for, considering that the same gross salary will nett you 1K extra in most of the neighboring countries.

That said, everything in Belgium is relatively cheap. You can probably rent in a major city in the center for between 700-1000 EUR, 500-600 if you don't mind the commute, and expect to pay ~ 200 EUR per person per month for groceries. You'll lose another 300 or so on utilities and services. Bars are cheap as fuck at 2.5 EUR for a beer, and restaurants are very reasonably priced considering the high quality of the food they usually serve.

The good news is, despite the high taxes on labor, if you manage to save a lot of money, any returns you see in the stock market are not taxed!

Why is /biz/ always like this.. 7K € after tax is 84K€ a year (almost 100K$ a year) - after tax. The average person in Belgium does not earn that much, they would be closer to earning the half of that i.e. around 40K€ a year after tax.

I am genuinely confused about /biz/ you seem to have a distorted view of society in terms of income and wealth.
In every country on this planet, a +100K$ annual salary would be a top 5% salary, if you have more than 1 mio $ in savings/invested, then you are in the top 1% - in every country.

1500-2000 EUR in disposable income is quite OK. It gets better with a partner/wife ofcourse.

@OP: I would assume that there is a possibility of getting a company car as well seeing as this is Belgium. If not, trading some salary for a car may be worth it.

>>16139264
There's no way it's 7000 after taxes lmao.
1. No one quotes salaries with the after-tax figure, that's retarded.
2. He'd have to earn nearly 16.000 EUR a month before tax. Which is not impossible, but that would be rare.
