I'm expecting moon.

XMR THREAD : the offshore bank account meme is now going to start moon.

I am happy to be part of monero community. I feel that randomX is the begin of something bigger.

linkies and scammers have taken over. However, we know what we have.

Random X will def improve the level of solo mining possibility and make it much harder to run farms to mine it. I think it will gradually increase the price when it drops and will help coins everywhere to adopt CPU mining over GPU. But the issue of having CPU means malware and such will benefit much more from it sadly.

You're right, randomX is pretty amazing. And not only that, i2p and tor support is also rolling out.
Monero is so far ahead of other cryptocurrencies, it's crazy how undervalued it is.

for this next fork, what should I be doing to prevent potential deanonymizing of my wallet? mix a couple times in my subaddresses before and after the fork?

I still can't believe sometimes the crypto community , they have so many genious programmers and cryptographers but the lack of economic thinking and game theory thinking is insanely retarded.

Why the fuck monero keeps forking i get it they don't like asics , but anyone with 3 digit iq can think a good solution with game theory to prevent that.

The ideal logical solution from day one would have been to make mined coins unuseful for a random period of time from a year to 3 or 5 years.
This may seem retarded but would allow asics for supporters and long term investors and make the network more secure but destroy industrial asics farms since mined coins could not be sold for years.

That solution would be the best of both world , asics for long term investors and would make asics economically unfeasible for mining farms due to the long time of maduration of mined coins.

And yet the brainelts have forked how many times now to make it asic secure?3?I am seriously asking.

RandomX is definitely a good step forward for monero. Solo mining is the future and how crypto was originally intended to be!

why are you asking? you should know from the future, based time traveler.

Interesting idea, but I don't think it would destroy farms there would just be fewer of them due to the higher upfront cost and risk.
It would kill off mining pools though.

they made many attempts to fight asic and became very good at hard forking. something btc is affriad to do. if anything its a good development. RandomX is the promising solution. it might fuck asics for good. the inventor is a literal genius

There are so many ways to alter a timeline one has to take atention to the news monero friend for example the recent collapse in scrypt mining hashrate is interesting and will force scrypt coins miners to capitulate and find a base price that will make them the best investment for the next bullrun.
This was unexpected in this timeline and is probably caused by some asic producer mining with smaller nm asics in secret.

>>16130115
Well you can't run a mining farm if you can't predict your income due to a random time of maduration of the coins , also you would need to take debt for years to pay the mining costs and if the coins you mined mature at different time you would not be even be able of budget your operation long term.

But for a long term investor having an asic may pay off be being cheaper than buying.
Also this would increase stock to flow ratio by making new coins harder to find.

>>16130161
You assume asics are a problem asics increase the cost of a 51% attack by at least 10 times if not way more.

it's way cheaper to buy mass produced cpus to 51% attack monero than to buy asics.

The cost of a 51% attack on btc is in the billions and ltc is probably going to reach the same place the next year.

That said randomX is interesting.

RandomX is just the first step. It will envolve into an virtual world, where in the miner will have to solve tasks.
