Why is XRP so dead? Almost 3 years of constant downtrend and no recovery in sight. I still hold a small back from 2017 summer but don't see a point anymore.

well, be that as it may, there is still the petit problem of the fucking 55 billion XRP in escrow, not counting the billions held by Ripple execs, Jed McCaleb, R3 lawsuit settlement and the many charities and whatnot Ripple donated XRP to over the years.

Unless something truly Earth shattering happens that would put XRPs in short supply then the downwards price pressure will be too much even if all the above mentioned entities exercise as much restraint as they possibly can in selling.

At current pace of XRP "distribution", it will take roughly a century to dump them all. If they go ful whack - 1 billion a month out of escrow plus as much as the market can take from non-escrowed holdings, it will take them a decade to get rid of it all. So to be fair, it will be probably somewhere in between the 10 and a 100 years.
