You don't know that. The Jooz also say diamonds are rare, when they in fact are fucking worthless. If you can fully control the supply/market of anything, you can say anything is rare when it's not.

I mean...yea so?!
Just trying to get ahead of the next economic shift. You can make money in the markets but you have to be a big spread to truly realize gains...income tax, capital gains, inflation, and consumer price index. You have to do that every year until you die.
PMs do that for you and the only tax you really pay is on your income when you buy. PMs are looking like a big opportunity more and more because of the ever unstable and debasement of fiat banks controlling the economies in all but four of the countries on the planet. A system that has and always failed. Always.

In Canada, you don’t have to pay capital gains tax for selling your silver maples as long as you sold below $1000. So let’s say you buy a tube of maples (25 coins) for $600 CAD ($25 CAD a pop) and then the price of silver doubles to $50 CAD. You can sell your tube for $999 under the natural spot for $1200 and avoid capital gains or putting it in your tax income statement. Unadjusted you made a profit of $399.

True, but it still represents actual energy to extract it which has a cost.

Silver is rare to other non-precious metals but there’s enough that gives it breathing room as a potential currency. 45,000 tones mined each year. Roughly 2 million tones mined since humans started looking for it and roughly 600k tones in reserve yet to be mined. Probably another 2-3 million tones yet to be prospected. And yet it is still rare and can be used to back fiat but not so rare that you’d get credit crunch. The point is that silver is money and if you have it you’re more insured than non-holders.
