its an interesting way of redistributing upper echelon wealth to the bottom 80%

i like the fact that he acknowledges "the one thing government is good at it sending mail out to every citizen. they suck at everything else"

im also sure that 80% of social service money is wasted and goes straight to the pockets of corrupt people in power

so i support yang.

He's a larping communist

Politics makes no sense

If he wanted to actually win he could've just ran as a republican and said he was eliminating taxes entirely.

Would've made much more sense than his fucking retarded ubi plan.

The second everyone has an extra $1k in their pockets is the second hyper inflation occurs and your groceries are now $1k more expensive

If you want to stimulate the economy eliminate the fucking slug leech that is the federal government. it's the only thing that de incentivisez somewhat intelligent people from making more money

Very smart people obviously just avoid taxes but many decide welp i won't do x y and z because of all the tax implications

And if it does get implemented, it's only going to take value from and punish the productive while rewarding the not-so-productive. Great plan.
Or say it's not financed through taking from the rich and rather simply printed it will increase the already inflating money-supply.
Which you all know diminishes purchasing power of already existing savings.
It would suck ass in every way

Uh, did you ever stop to think that those unproductive people were never going to be productive in the first place, and that with the advancement of tech and automation that they would have been fucked either way, so we might as well give them some sort of soft landing so some of them can try to make something of themselves instead of your shitty plan of just hoping for the best?

My plan isn't hoping for the best. I assure you if automation leads to the decimation of all jobs it would soon after lead to the decimation of life. What use does the elite have for their cattle if not working? NONE.
And you admit unproductive people won't work then? And we should just be nice? How nice is it to take from the productive and give to the unproductive. FUCK OFF.

also adding to this, by giving those "unproductive" people 12k a year, it allows them to partake in capitalism and spend that money in local markets as well as national or global. It even helps the businesses because more people will have more money to spend on different things.

>unproductive people won't work then

What a novel take, yes, we should be nice to them so they can partake in capitalism and hope to create a niche for themselves.

It's not taking from anyone. Imagine not understanding how a VAT tax works. Imagine not understanding that every American adult gets it.

Yea, I live in the valley of Western MD near Appalachia. 12k really isn't much, even if you do live out there. If Yang does implement a freedom dividend, I think other things would have to be cut to fund it. I just don't know how we could afford to give out that kinda money for more than like 5 years.
