Starting a brick & morter small business (franchise) in the coming year. I signed the agreement a few weeks ago and doors will be open within 18 months? Does anyone else have experience with this? Any tips? What I am concerned about the most will be finding a reliable and diligent crew as most of the jobs besides two managers will be $10-15/hr and we are already at full employment.
I am currently working at one of the largest locations in the network, undercovering bossing of sorts as I won't ascend to the General Manager of that location but will be of my own in a different state so I know the ins and outs of the daily operations and I am hangning around after work and shadowing other people to observe and learn the things that aren't a part of what I do regularly. The skill I am most concerned with is my interaction with customers. I am not your typical 'person at the front desk', I don't feigning excitement well and i don't enjoy talking about the weather etc but that will be a major part of owning my own store as I see customers really enjoy interacting with the owner when he is there. Any tips on that front?
