Paint me a picture here:

Let's say it's 2023 and everything has worked as planned. Chainlink is the industry standard for facilitating defi and all other forms of smart contracts. Jewish lawyers have roped en masse because they are no longer needed.

Who would be node operators in this scenario? Random neets? Big companies? Something else?

Why would node operators need link tokens from 4chan neets to operate? Why wouldn't they just buy their own LINK and stake it themselves?

Do your own research

banks, tech companies, and exchanges will be the biggest node operators, small nodes can still participate and generate income however because the network is not exclusionary outside of reputation, which anyone can acquire provided they offer reliable access to API data. LINK itself is a valuable investment, meaning bigger entities are happy to buy more as a means of turning a steady profit. The NEETs in question will mostly sell on the way up, but any that hold on and stake will have a significant advantage over those who try to get in late. But a startup node could invest 100k for a few link and eventually see returns after reliably running their node for awhile.
also we’ll still have our Jew lawyers, someone has to actually write the terms of smart contracts to begin with

Do you understand the basic concept of supply & demand? Where else would they buy the tokens from?
