Last year I was making 97k and had a ton of CC debt
This year I'm making 130k with a different company and am debt free! Trying to save aggressively and have an emergency fund before I start investing in anything other than my 401k.

Last year
>20k 401k
>2k USD

Now
>30k 401k
>7k USD
>70 oz. silver
>.74 BTC, 8 ETH, 12 LTC, 1180 LINK

Same job. Hate it, don't make much. Going back to uni to finish my bachelors to try to get more prospects. 28 y/o doomer. I want to do well but have no idea what path to follow so I shut down. Might be depressed desu senpai drink and smoke too much and always regret it the next day because I feel even more demoralized. Steal happiness from tomorrow to squeeze some from today

Do you like it? How did you get into it? How long have you been doing it?

I've been doing it for about 9 years now. Got into it when I was in my last year in undergrad... couldn't find a job so I started emailing every IT small business in my area with my resume until I got an interview. I didn't know what SharePoint was but a company said they would teach me so I went with them and started as an intern. Been job hopping since for those pay bumps.

I basically just use HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SharePoint to make applications for government customers. The problem is that it's not used much outside of the government so my job options are restricted

That's an insane reversal of fortune but the real question is how your income was so high and yet you hadn't hit FEV

what were you doing that you needed to take on paycheque financing while making close to 100k in the DC area??

It only gets worse, if you're not #in at a very lively workplace, expect a good number of nights alone with delivery and TV

adult life blows

Oh fuck this is a good perspective to take OP. Been stressing out because i feel like a loser but i have literally gained a whole year worth of salary in my investments account and have a normal job unlike a year ago when i was homeless and jobless and no money to my name.
Thank you for making me stop and take a look back

What is FEV? Google says it's a disease

I was travelling a ton during that time and put everything on my CC. I also lost ~15k trading forex. Lesson learned and now my finances are doing much better

Last year
$90k in 401k, $8k in Roth IRA, $80k in taxable, 1BTC 8ETH, about $100k in real estate.

This year
$100k in 401k, $10k in Roth IRA, $100k in taxable, 3BTC, 12ETH, about $120k in real estate.

I'm a NEET since last year. I said enough is enough and quit my corporate wagie job. I pretty much didn't do shit this year and my asset keeps increasing. I have very low cost of living so, I haven't touched my investments at all.

YTD return on VTSAX is 20%. I pretty much made 20% return this year on bulk of my investment for siting on my ass.
Also, Crypto was cheap at beginning of this year so I went shopping.
Also, started a Roth conversion ladder to avoid paying taxes on my 401k.

Nope, been into crypto since 2010 or something. Just never invested over $1000 into it.

Last year I had twice the amount in the bank than I do now but thats because I invested it into my business.

This year business has never been better but need to make on my investment 100% before I move on to any heavy investing.

I've recently been given 0.25% equity of my company, on top of 0.25% of its profits, which amount to a nice chunk every quarter. I've got nearly enough money to buy a house in one of the most expensive cities in the world, so I'm doing alright.

Got out of a job that I hated. Attempted to start my own business. Failed. Landed a part time gig that pays the bills so I can still work on the business while keeping the lights on and health care paid. The loss of 80% of the stress the old job was responsible for was worth it even if I'm not making gobs of money.
