>get government job
>middle management filled with middle aged roasties
>half my colleagues are women who have been in the system for 15 years
>coffee and cigarette breaks every 30 minutes in between idle chit-chat
>no one seems to do any work
>everyone seems to walk around exchanging paper work with each other like coupons to keep busy
>day filled with stake-holder meetings where other people in the department sit around the table bullshit each other with technical jargon and abbreviations
>otherwise I look at the computer trying to seem busy by playing around with an excel spreadsheet.
>dont create anything, just pass around paper work
>life feels more meaningless as i continue to trade my time for a salary thats a little above average
>there for 8 hours a day
>it feels like prison

I swear an office job is for people too intelligent for welfare but society has no use of them. We get paid a salary big enough to survive and buy trinkets, but nothing to climb out of debt-slavery unless we're in the system until we did. Crypto is the ONLY chance we have to beat this nightmare.

At the moment I'm thinking of doing a course in cyber security (its offered to vets for free), anyone here work in this space. At least i'll be doing something that invovles problem solving and technical ability rather than this hellscape of schmoozers trying network and cheese there way to validate their vapid existence, or else get stuck filling in excel spreadsheets for the rest of my life.

Fuck. Wage slave general.

I get all my work done in the first hour or two of the day. If I do it all at once, and have nothing to do I look like im slacking. So I space it out and when someone asks what Im upto I bullshit the same technical jargon at them. Im fortunate that no one knows how excel works either, so I just by having the screen up I look busy. On my other monitor I usually trawl Wikipedia. Im in an open office, so I cant be too blatant.

The real kick in the nuts is how it almost seems orchestrated how a (((9-5))) completely destroys your day giving you such minimal free time you can’t accomplish anything substantial but yet you are also still tired and feeling drained after the hour or so commute and time spent getting ready for work in the morning. Untersmench prefer to digitally bury their heads in the sand virtue signaling on Instagoy(plenty of anons do this too via frog posting and wasting time on the Ch0ns). I’m quitting my job today, giving them a months notice and am gonna spend the next year pursuing my dream which is art. I like technology but after 2 years in An office environment IT job I’m sick of it. I feel like I wasted my best years in school to get a degree for a job that really isn’t that fulfilling.

Definitely in demand. Go to Glassdoor and look at jobs such as “security architect” “software security” and anything with defensive tools like splunk or security onion etc.

Civilian salaries are 80-180K depending on education and experience

>> No.16002213

Fucking hell, I not only agree with everything itt, I thought some of my months old posts had been copy pasted by archive lurkers.

There some more things to add. I once worked in a government job. I remember my job involved numbers and I felt like my work had no connection with the outer world. I saw huge amounts of people working on extremely large and elaborate PowerPoint slides and reports and I REALLY couldn't figure out what they were doing that could have any use outside the office.

And I saw some horrifying presentations by (genuinely, but sadly, high IQ) senior managers about their "frameworks" for how strategic decisions and better working could be done. These were the weirdest fucking diagrams. And then when someone asks if they've been used or could they be used in certain situations, the manager can't give a coherent or straight answer.

yeah the system -of course- doesn't educate you or teach you how to get rich and make money. the system, -meaning the schools, universities, politicial setup and media indoctrination- teaches you how to be an average "educated" (haha such a joke) wage slave that has positive inclinations towards socialism and everything left.

if you want to live free (whose main point is literally not to be burdened 8h a day with absolute idiots that swallowed said shit) you

- gotta perform hard
- use every edge you can get
- be one evil motherfucker that trusts no one
- be money & success focused
- shit on all this garbage society presents you as 'worth attaining' (eg the stereotypes of a "happy life")

its tough.
understand that chances are against you. you will very likely not make it breaking out of the system.

>> No.16002819

I empathize with you guys, but at the same time- there are people who kill themselves working 60 or more hours with almost no breaks for the same or less money. It's okay to be bored at work if you put things in your life that are fun outside of your work time. Sometimes, depending on the position, you can speak to your supervisor about adjusting your schedule. Best time in my life I was working 8am-130pm and doing literally whatever the hell I wanted outside of that time.

>> No.16002994

I'm fully trapped in the rat race and it's fucking bullshit. How do people spend 10+ hours (commuting, waking up and preparing the commute, and fighting traffic on the return) for a 9-5 and then have the fucking gall to hold it up like a trophy, gloating they "have a REAL job and contribute to society!"

I get maybe 4 or so hours to work on my own shit and it's so tempting to just fuck off and play vidya and fap all night but it turns into the worst cycle imaginable that some people stay in for years. sleep-work-eat-sleep, live for the weekend, watch the latest popular tv shows and go drink yourself stupid, don't think about ways to escape the treadmill just enjoy the 2 nights a week you can get shit-faced.

Fuck all that shit.

Heres a lifehack.
Look for a book or a website you want to read and just copy and paste chapter after chapter into your "I'm looking like I'm busy" program(excel, word, outlook, etc.) Then just read your book without judgement from your coworkers in those programs.
I usually just copy my books into an email in outlook and just save it in drafts folder. Then I can use outlook preview feature to just look like I'm reading a very long email.

It’s always small people with 0 balls to ever even attempt to try to make a change that put others down. At least we will take a chance. God an office setting was a real red pill on women, it made me really sad for awhile but it eventually led me to not depend on anyone but myself for my own happiness. Easier said than done some days but the amount of married women or those dating others that would easily give it up to a random dude at their work was horrifying to someone that holds loyalty as an important character trait.

future CS anon here, wanting to go to IT because I'd be moving my ass helping people instead of sitting alone in a cubicle with soiboi coders.

Worth the IT struggle? I don't want to be a bottom bitch coder the rest of my life. Atleast when I get to IT I could be responsible for upper management and be treated like a human being, unless it's a meme. Help me out bros

>> No.16003916

It has its pros and cons anon, like you said as a tech you get to get up and move around and interact with people besides so1 autist coders which is nice. I used to really enjoy tech but man dealing with boomers that are literally half retarded that can’t open PDF files can be frustrating. I like helping people so it was a better fit for me but it’s not nearly as challenging as coding which is a better mental exercise when you spend half your day just restarting a computer, running reports or plugging things in/trouble shooting why a Jack isn’t giving a device the right kind of connection. I’m grateful I had this job but I’m just ready to give my true passion a swing. If it doesn’t work out there’s always gonna be IT jobs and my experience and degree aren’t going anywhere. Best of luck to you anon I think any job once you can do it with your eyes closed it gets boring and no longer seems fulfilling.
