never going to happen, taxes get paid in FRN. Besides gold wouldn't work as we are growing to quick to use gold. the economy can only grow as fast as gold is extracted from the ground

This goldback shit is a fucking scam https://goldback.com/exchange

They pay double the price of gold to press this into sheets. Obviously that is simply not true and they are making huge amounts of money off of suckers like you.
Once your tooling is done and automated it should be a negligible cost at scale to produce these laminated gold dollars not fucking 1100 dollars per ounce.
Jesus you boomers are so fucking stupid.

They don't press them into sheets, they spray the gold on in a vacuum chamber.
Either way I agree that they are over priced but I think they are cool looking and I'd accept them as payment over globohomo money.

Yeah then you are as stupid as I have stated , if they were not so worried about the art concept they could just laminate pre printed paper with gold leaf on it.
Gold leaf is literally just putting a hold nugget of a certain denomination and running it through a press.
Take the pre printed shit and plop a 1/1000th gold nugget on it , run through press, laminate results and bam you have a goldback that cost pennies to make not dollars.

Again this is a scam , no one should accept these have over the value of 1/1000th ounce of gold.

>> No.15993139

>>15992847
the problem with gold leaf is getting a precise weight of gold
the process they use to make goldbacks and other aurum products is precise enough to consistently put out the weight of gold it claims to have in-bedded in the notes

It is impossible for retail investors to hoard gold anymore, that ship has sailed. posting the pasta
>be interested in gold to diversify
>most sellers offer you "gold certificates", physical gold has 10% premium
>shipping and insurance extra of course
>you have to verify you weren't sent gold plated tungsten
>try to sell years later
>wholesale gold buyers pay only 95% current market rate
>I'm sorry to inform you this MR. Goy, but the bars of gold you sent us were made of tungsten!

Those are some very nice notes. Probably the prettiest I have ever seen. The concept is retarded as fuck though. What's the advantage compared to bullions?

>> No.15994197

>>15993873
The advantage is being able to spend small amounts of gold.
A 1/10th ounce coin is the size of a dime and is worth about $150 but 1/1000th ounce goldback is almost the size of a dollar bill and is worth about $1.50.
Obviously the biggest issue with them is the premium.

>> No.15994511

>>15994197
I see the problem with a $1 gold bullion being unusable small, but that's what we have silver for. People have used gold and silver for hundreds of year without problem. I feel like this is just another make up a solution to a problem that is not a problem to make money scheme

>> No.15994683

>>15994511
Well gold has always had a problem with being used for very small transactions so in some ways this does solve that age old problem.
The bigger problem I have with them is that they essentially cost twice as much as the spot price of gold.

Then what do you use for a small transactions?
I'm not even saying go out and buy these goldbacks but what I am saying is that in the future they might be a good way of transacting in a post-fiat world.
