seems like there's pretty much no extremely knowledgeable developer in crypto whos opinion is particularly worthwhile. their opinions combined are worth considering, but each individual will occasionally voice things that don't make sense, or that are emotionally driven, or that otherwise indicate they don't have a good grasp of reality like a impartial observer might have.

nah he's not. satoshi was a british cryptography student that was a fanboy of hal finney's ideas, hence the poker client and marketplace originally built in.
