She's not wrong.....

First most people here are NEET/min wage losers who are never going to be able to afford either but tell themselves the house is the better option cause it's the "safer"/less adventurous option.

Second cause everyone here is NEET/min wage they don''t realise how ridiculously hard it is to run out of money in an average white collar job so it doesn't exactly matter if travelling is a waste of money cause you'll have effectively unlimited money anyway.

Third I've gone down the wealth/status route and it's just a waste of time. What enjoyment are you going to get out of a fancy house? Literally nothing and although a small one would be nice you don't have to sacrifice travelling regularly to buy one. Seriously think it through, when you're 40 years old are you going to regret not living in a massive house over the last 20 years or not riding on elephants, seeing the pyramids, fucking people from very country etc.

I fell for the house meme way too long, was all set to buy one at 21 but decided to go to med school putting it off until I'm 27ish (normally done by 23 in UK). It really fucking stung for a while and I felt like a massive loser for a while until i realised I shouldn't need to impress people and should do what makes me happy. Only been to France and spain so far but have had so, so much more fun than saving money pointlessly/having a large bank balance and constantly waiting instead of havign fun in the moment right now

Only a med student but have travelled to 18 countries in the last two years and have decent savings in fiat/crypto.

They're not mutually exclusive. Travel cheap, work the right gigs (I.e. tutor) and don't be those idiots who spend 100 bucks at student bars
