I started demo trading some cheap stocks to get a feel for how it might be.
I watched a bunch of vids on analysis, and kept up to date with my stocks and company info.
It was going well at first but prices started yo-yoing for no discernible reason.
I checked every where and I couldn't find any info.

How do people live profitably off this, I feel like I had more control when I betted on sports.

It's rigged and you absolutely would be better off trying to do practically anything else. It's really bizarre because there are mountains of evidence to show U.S. markets are rigged and most credible people will tell you they're rigged, but no one does anything about it. Maybe no one can. If you documented everything in its entirety and pieced together all of the shit that has been going on since the dotcom crash and through the Global Financial Crisis (Pattern Day Trading Rule, Microstructure changes, Short Seller Restriction, Madoff getting caught, collapse of the prop firm business/transition to "education", etc.), there is likely to be an enormous fucking blackpill, but long before you come across that you'll see that something very rotten is going on and as a retail trader you don't have a prayer in the world on U.S markets. That's just U.S. markets mind you. Things like crypto and markets like Australia's ASX for example are potentially different stories.
