Until you research more and learn how to do DD properly just put your money into an SnP500 index Vanguard or Blackrock are popular. Even if the market crashes tomorrow you have time on your side.(also make sure your Super/401k which ever is applicable is on high growth for the same reasons)
Make sure you choose full participation to reinvest dividends.
Tat should last you until you are confident enough to change your strategy.

Gold and silver is secure, and can easily be converted to different forms of fiat should you need. A bar or two of silver can also bribe some third world security officials in a pinch. Bonds and T-bills are "safe" only for as long as the goverment exists. The US might not be a global superpower in 100 years, but gold and silver will still to be valuable no matter who is top dog.


I'm not suggesting to convert 100% of your assets to PM, but keeping 5% to 10% is ideal and will you keep safe.
