What will happen to digital currencies medium term if there is a global economic meltdown?

Nobody knows but most of us here are optimistic they will skyrocket in value when it is accepted as a legitimate safe haven asset class. Also they might dump straight through the earths core. We'll see soon enough.

Depends how bad.
If it's bad enough for people to actually need USD, real money; they'll sell and crypto will lose value. But whales will get more coins, because they'll have enough real money in their bank already.

If it's not that bad, crypto will go up. Cause people will think that other people think it will go up - weather its more valuable or not. The USD's relative value probably won't move much in a "medium level" financial collapse.

they would unironically get rekt. US equity market is highly correlated with crypto, with money typically exiting and entering quicker than the equity markets do

What part will eth play in the rebuilding of the future economy? It seems like it is poised to overtake bitcoin down the road. Also, how do I tell my parents that I’m gay and I’m a bottom?

eth is like bitcoin in 2013. msm will eat it up and fortune 500 companies will rush to create tokens to appease their board of directors.
i wouldn't bother telling your parents you are gay unless you are planning on never having kids. being gay when you are young is one thing, but planning on never propagating your bloodline is another.

Anyone that says no one knows is a newfag! It HAS been tested back in '13.
Bank collapse/recession is good for BTC, I was working at a pub that investment bankers frequented in '13. During the run up, the bankers/traders wanted me to tell them about BTC as they knew I was into it!
See in '13 the Cypriot bank crisis happened, the accounts with over 100K EUROs got a hair cut, people where wondering if this could spread. They understood the pump was unsustainable but the idea is to persevere SOME of your wealth. So yes, once trouble starts people with money will diversity, SOME will buy BTC. What stopped the pump was a few things, China 'Banned' crypto, MTgox, sure there was something else but I'm a 35 year old boomer & my memory is failing.

Good question. My point of view is that Crypto will be the new standard of money. Highly regulated to the point it will be used against you.

Privacy Cryptocurrencies like Monero will be high in demand however it will provide little protection against advanced technology like Ai. Routing for projects like Stegos, that are all about anti-surveillance.

Crypto will be huge in the future. Expect to be taxed and spied upon, they will track everything that has to do with your financial life as we deal with the setback of a economic meltdown

>USD
>real money

Pick one.

Real money is silver and gold. Btc could become money, but silver and gold has been real money since before the sumerians invented cuneiform.

their price is already optimistic, i mean do you think everyone can redeem at today's price all at once?
