Why is Chainlink considered a scam?
>LINK + any smart contract platform = DEFI
>DEFI is going to exist in hundreds of instantiations on multiple different smart contract platforms
Doesn't it have something incredibly unique and valuable?

It's a scam because I didn't buy below 30 cents when /biz/ told me to and now I feel hurt when I see them shilling it now and see the price above $2

it's considered a scam because the actual product doesn't resemble the whitepaper in the slightest. Chainlink is a centralized piece of shit. It's not revolutionary. The managed to waste 3 years now and produce nothing of value. Meanwhile BTC & ETH were up and running in a year.

Its not so much a scam as it is a very shilled and overhyped erc20 token.
If it really did what it claims to do, I personally believe it would be *substantially* higher TODAY, but it isnt despite it being well recognized by people who would definitely know its uses.
It has staying power and its run up in an otherwise bull market is good, but the longer it goes without being used by big names, the more likely it will be replaced by in-house tokens or newer tokens. And don't give me 'muh google' or 'muh swift' because those turned out to be bluster hype, and this token seems only to thrive on hype, not actual, in real life uses.

The problem with "decentralized oracles" (The "God Protocol") is that it's sci-fi -- a hypothetical idea, kind of like a warp drive. Just like the entire cryptospace in general. Which is why public interest, even amongst institutions (BAKKT), is low. The only people showing genuine interest are a bunch of philosophers, idealistic enthusiasts and sci-fi nerds. I mean, sure, it's cool to follow. Just be aware that you are investing in what is an idea that is not grounded in reality. Because, in reality, we won't have a God Protocol. Nor will we travel with warp drives between solar systems. Instead we will all die a horrible death either due famine induced by global warming, a pulverizing nuclear war, or ultimately, be burned alive due to the sun's corona expanding.

Consider investing into more realistic projects like Mars colonies or generational spaceships instead...

It’s not considered a scam. Some people insist on calling it a scam to lower the price and allow them to buy more.

You’re not a part of their fan base. You’re a literal whose whining absolutely nothing to them. The Chainlink “community” are the node operators, developers and people who run legacy finance infrastructure.
