Discussion thread about shares price, future of this platform, potential revenue... etc.

What Is LinkPool?
>LinkPool is a ChainLink service provider with the ultimate goal of lowering the barrier to entry to becoming part of the ChainLink node network. Our aim is to allow people to easily earn passive income via staking, and also ease the amount of technical knowledge and experience required for running their own node. We achieve this by offering a easy to use and intuitive staking app and also a more hands-on Node as a service solution.

Linkpool's Services

>Staking Pools for Chainlink and literally any cryptocurrency that enables PoS
>NaaS
>Consultancy & Managed Nodes
>Chainlink Marketplace Listing
>Turn your node into a pool-as-a-service

>Quick Rundown on the crowdsale

In order to get funding, LinkPool had a crowdsale from April 15 to July 31, 2018. Jonny & Mat sold 25% of the company to the crowdsale contributors. The capacity of the crowdsale was 1,000 ETH, of which only 701.2 ETH were sold. However, the Linkpool team decided to evenly distribute the unsold portion among contributors. After the crowdsale finished, the team distributed the shares, giving an extra 40% to everyone. These can be purchased through the DEx.

>Why would I buy a share?
You get 0.025% of the revenue generated by LinkPool's services per share you hold. That includes NaaS subscription payments, 25% stakers fee, Chainlink MarketPlace payments, Nodes turned into pools service and any other form of revenue for future Linkpool's products.

>> No.15874582

>>15874562
How does distribution work in different cases?

>Figure with 100 LINK as revenue in the staking dApp:
>75 Link is distributed among every staker.
>6.25 Link is distributed among shareholders.
>18.75 Link is distributed among Jonny & Mat.

>Figure with 100 LINK as revenue through NaaS payment, heartbeat and Marketplace payments:
>75 go to Jonny & Mat
>25 go to share holders

Last LP share trade: ~51 ETH / LP

Right now LinkPool is earning 2,880 LINK a month running a node on mainnet. Distributions will happen once a fortnight (Sundays).

STAKING NUMBERS - The limits will be roughly as follows:

>On go-live: 200,000–800,000 LINK (200–800 LINK per LP)
>From 6–12 months: 10 million LINK+ (Over 10k LINK per LP)
>It’s important to note that from 6–12 months, 10 million is the lower target for the platform.

Will LP earn 7x more now with the new price reference data?

>> No.15874850

>>15874801
I've been thinking about it for a while, and to be honest, I hope so. The ability earn 8 times more LINK thanks to the heartbeat and our LP sounds great. Nevertheless I have to admit that the fact that the new price feeds coincide with the recent advances in the development of the multi-response adapter makes me believe it won't be that way. Maybe the upcoming blogpost clarifies a few things

Also just to be clear, I'm specifically talking about this task
https://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/167674012

The multi-response adapter could concentrate multiple job requests into one, thus not increasing heartbeat revenue after the new price feeds get released. I could be wrong though

>>15874853
Hold tight to your LP, you will be outperforming most LINK holders in ~2 years

>>15874870
I expect it from Chainlink. They announced in a tweet that they would release a blogpost before or by devcon detailing the dates and the price data of the new feeds. I expect it today, but I don't really know

How many LP to be a NEET in europe?

>> No.15874977

>>15874850
What is going to happen is that the price per job will be reduced from the current price of 0.3333 to 0.1.
All LP holders will receive more income, it just won't be as much as everyone hopes.

>> No.15875041

>>15874913
I think, in order to be a neet in Europe thanks to Linkpool you have to keep in mind several aspects. First, it depends on where do you live. What's the average income? What is the average cost of living? What are the taxes on capital gains in your country? A Polish guy could easily live with $500 income, while a Danish could not live off that.

Firstly, we need to figure out whether these new 7 heartbeats are going to increase our revenue or not (with increased revenue, that's 5.76 LINK per LP share monthly instead of the current 0.72 LINK).

Secondly, LP holders are the only ones -along with mainnet official node operators- that receive a fixed income of LINK regardless of price, which is great since it makes our earning increase along with the token price action.

In the short term though, only top 20 or top 10 contributors can earn a significant amount of LINK in order to neet (check pic related in OP post).

>>15874977
That's an interesting theory and it actually makes sense. In that case the revenue is 1.728 LINK per LP share

Since LinkPool is a security, it cannot be sold legally in the United States, so that small pop-up warning is the way that Linkpool has to cover themselves legally speaking. However, the law pursues whoever "sells" an unregistered security, not the one who buys it

>does that mean I can’t stake my link!?
It means that you ""shouldn't"" buy Linkpool shares

forgive my retarded math, but wouldn't it be more like:

LP wants 10% of all network traffic (assume 10% of LINK total supply; 100 mil)

100,000,000 / 4000 == 25,000 LINK per LP, or 1,000 LINK per LP share (0.04)

no?

Burgers can stake, but in a later stage when Linkpool opens to everyone. You could also use NaaS when it goes live, since it won't require LP shares, just a monthly fixed payment.
>>15879508
Jonny said a while ago that he has been misinterpreted regarding the 10% statement. What he meant is that he wanted to have at least 1 Linkpool node answering to a minimum of 10% of the job requests made within the network. I'd say right now is +95% since the heartbeat is most of the traffic.
