>Did you hear his comment right now about the 90's cuts

The 90s cuts were like 2 or 3 .25% cuts in a row and they were done. Based on the 90s cuts, we're only one .25% cut away from being done. He's talking out his arse.

Also, take note that they're expanding their balance sheet BEFORE they reach zero this time around. If they dropped to zero and then started, it would look like it was a repeat of 2008/2009 and that would spook markets.

IMO, I think the overnight funding shortfall was artificially made by JP Morgan to give the FED an excuse to expand their balance sheet further. And it's all hush hush, TOTALLY NOT QE GUISE stuff.

1. Rate cuts are priced in for October.

2. Balance sheet expansion is priced in for October?

3. They are at the mercy of geopolitical events now, they've done all that they can to stem the bleeding until the next FOMC meeting.

This article was out BEFORE Trump's visa restrictions on Chinese officials.

>“We strongly urge the U.S. to immediately stop making irresponsible remarks on the issue of Xinjiang, stop interfering with the wrong actions of China’s internal affairs, and remove relevant Chinese entities from the list of entities as soon as possible,” a spokesperson from the Ministry of Commerce said.

This is just me, but I think that the White House has known that a deal has not been possible for a while now. Probably when Trump announced his retaliatory tariffs back in August.

How can one expect a State like that to hold together?”

A state purely centered around the creation of money, with no shared cultural, genetics or history, will collapse as soon as the money dries up.

America is the modern day Austria-Hungary but instead of Germans with Slavs (sounds almost quaint now doesn't it?), it's "whites" with 40% transplanted Africans, Mexicans, Asians and Middle Easterners.

I never understood these Americans who hate America. It's all demoralization in schools isnt it? In what world do you wish for the demise of your own nation, in which you live, that your forefathers built from nothing, that allows you a lifestyle even kings of the past could not enjoy? In what world do you think this wish makes you somehow better than your peers? This person doesnt do anything about it. They just type on their keyboard praying for their own demise and the demise of the people around them. They contribute nothing to try and fix issues, nor do they participate in its destruction. They're just sitting in the Coliseum, watching the fighters duke it out for their lives, and complain that people care about their lives, and you're too good to care.

No true American fallacy?

I'd argue that the more depressed markets in Yurop function more effectively because at least they represent the underlying realities of their economies, which aren't that good right now.

The Fed/Trump put on the American stock market over the last 12 months has been particularly egregious.

A nation isn't the stock market. A nation isn't the state either. A nation is it's people.

Lower rates didn't drag down the market. The announcement by Powell for more balance sheet expansion today pumped markets: but it was immediately followed by Trump's blacklist against Chinese firms.

The US Fed does have the capacity to pump but if the forces acting against it are stronger, the markets will still dump regardless.

Think back to the peak of 2008/2009. The Fed was cutting rates left right and center but it was never enough to counteract the market. In some cases, the Fed would cut .25% or .50% and the market would go down because it expected a higher cut!

What prompted the sell off last year?

1. Concerns around earnings.
2. Fed tightening.
3. Looming China-US trade war, but that had a reprieve in November after the G20 in Argentina.

What prompted the rally this year?

1. Fed pivot in early January to neutral, then flirtation with cuts, and then finally cuts.
2. Expectations of a US-China trade deal (ramp throughout April and early May).
3. Improved earnings in Q1, Q2.

What could prompt a sell off this year?

1. Reversal from dovish to hawkish ( The Fed easing is now baked into the market. EXTREMELY unlikely to go Hawkish unless we get massive amounts of inflation).
2. US-China trade talks breaking down and trade war escalating. That should be good for at least June 3rd, 2019 levels on the S&P 500, Nasdaq and the DOW.
3. Disappointing earnings season in the USA for major players.

I would agree with you on principle: the capitalist economies seemed to be more robust when interest rates were higher. However, all you need to do is look at stock valuations for the last 10 years of ultra-low interest rates to understand what effect it can have.

Trading markets is not about what you wish the world to be, but rather how things are. And if you're not connected with the realities of the market you're going to get crushed.

I then bought a long dated 2021 call option on spxs (meaning if spy goes down I make money times 3); its gone through cycles of losses and gains with the highest paper gain being 20%.

I think this is a potentially good play in the mid-long term. Honestly I'm an idiot at stock market investing, but I do think there is some room for the broad market to fall 10-20% due to some unknown factor.

I've also looked at zillow short, lyft/uber short, tech plays. However these are quite risky and I need to do more research.

WeWork - community adjusted EBITDA - haha what a joke. Jew scam. Wish I could short.

More short ideas. Shale Low EROIE plays. When will fracking bubble burst? Idk. Chesapeake Energy.

I might liquidate my crpyto and put it into YOLO 2020 long dated calls on SPXS. When crashes, I might DCA into long position however I am also wary same happened to Japan in 89 when the market burst. However USA has more favorable growing demographics, but I need to read up on this more

Inverse leveraged funds are subject to decay if the market goes sideways. Your losses are exacerbated more than what the market goes up as well due to daily re-balancing.

However, if you invest during an extended bear market you gain more than the nominal market losses. Compounding.

The scary thing is, I can't tell what side has the advantage anymore. The way American corporations are cowering before the Chinese market gives me pause at just how integrated the economies are and just how much soft power reach China has.

Americans will deny it black and blue, but the way China is operating now is reminiscent of an America during the early 20th century when they ran trade surpluses.

The problem is the public believes America of modern times is the same as America of the 40’s. America has nowhere near the industrial, naval, strength as it did back then. Not only have those pivotal factors weakened but the people that are citizens are more divided than ever before monetarily, culturally, racially, and religiously. I doubt that there is a single unification tool left in the US governments arsenal other than alien invasion.

Even say all of that I still despise chinks. Their society is just as morally bankrupt as ours. The social credit system, government overreach and the basic neglect for the environment is unforgivable.

I would much rather have Russian supremacy in both economic and militarism.

>The problem is the public believes America of modern times is the same as America of the 40’s.

I don't think even Americans in the 1940s had such an inflated view of themselves. The real peak of American cultural, economic and military power (comparative to other countries) came in the 1990s.

No British Empire. No USSR (Russia on her knees in a debt crisis). EU still in it's infancy. China still in bugman sweatshop low-priced manufacturing mode.

But it ain't 1999 anymore, but most Americans think like it is. The biggest problem is that it was their copious consumption in the first place that allowed China to become so large.

If America wants to win this from here on out, they need to get mean. Really mean. And they have to be willing to take severe economic pain to do it.

The S&P 500 dropped 40% from 1939 to 1942. It dropped 57% from 1937 to 1942.

Would modern America be able to absorb that type of market volatility? The immediate aftermath of 9/11 may be an example, but it was fleeting and used for negative purposes that ultimately weakened America's grip (and indirectly funded China's rise).

A vast majority that touches indices here uses e-mini's simply because it costs a lot to trade the real thing. But there's not much to say because it's just basic trading..
>Never try to trade news since algos will trade "breaking news" before you get the chance to blink, BUT keep a track when the fed for example will speak or when major meetings is suppose to take place because that specific day will obviously get very volatile compared to normal days
>Use VWAP and never buy when price is above it or sell when price is under it (this is basically just an extra security messure if you ask me, but a good one just for passive extra safety)
>Always confirm levels on the 4hr, daily and weekly. Never trade 1min/5min/15min, the big money in indices are always trading larger timeframes, so larger areas of support/resistance = More money = The levels have a higher chance of holding and bouncing price
>Learn basic TA, for example: You have an buy order at 7740.6, when a fat red candle drops down to let's say 7743 and gets bought up to 7758 but fails to breach 7760 (local resistance), then remove your 7740.6 order because the 7740 level has been weakened and when price moves down again (which it indicated it will when it failed to breach 7760) the 7740 level will most likely get smashed when tested again. Same goes for the other way around if you're shorting and the massive candle is green. This sounds easy but it's tough to master because you were just frontrunned by a tiny $2.4 and could probably have made a decent amount of money if you got filled at the level you watched for an hour, so you're frustrated and wants too keep the position in which usually ends in you losing money
>Never risk more than 2% of your account on every trade which means ALWAYS use a stop loss, don't listen to retards that say stop loss is bad for profits

Learn to locate strong support/resistance areas on a larger timeframe and you'll be fine

The biggest nightmare for the system is true unification of the people. That's why divisiveness is pushed so hard, even though it's mostly theatrics for those on top.

But what even is "the people" in an America ravaged so hard by constant migrants?

A Hong Kong/Yellow Vest style protest movement could never happen in the USA because people WILL NOT put themselves on the line. They have too much to lose in their consumerist little world. Only once that is threatened somewhat (2010-2011 was peak unemployment in the USA during the Great Recession, which coincided with the Occupy/Tea Party movement).

The NSDAP got fuck all votes in 1928 when the Weimar Republic was going okay economically.

The Bolsheviks got BTFO'd in 1905 by the Tsar because the state was still strong enough and people were happy enough.

Economic downturns are always system-changing events if severe enough.

If Trump looks as if he is going to be removed from office, the market will collapse to levels last seen during the 2016 election: 2250 or below.

There is another element that you are leaving out of your calculations
Mike "The Golden Bull" Pence will emerge, blameless and pure, from the wreckage of the Trump investigation. He will use his lightening powers to subdue the Chinese negotiators, Launch the first space force missions to Mars, and kick start the golden bull.
It's all TA, but the charts all agree. There is no other option.

I'm kinda not looking forward to seeing my 401k statement when it comes in. The red will be sickening. Hell the red I'm seeing in my brokerage is sickening and it's just small potatoes compared to the 401. The good bits is that when this shit rebounds the gains will be well worth it. (I hope)

Take solace that the long term bull market is on your side.

But panic because we've never had such a long uninterrupted period of time without a recession.

If you're hurting so much when we're only 5% or so off the highs, maybe stocks aren't for you.

I thought the market knew better than to expect a deal out of this week... Jesus Christ is that not mostly baked in?
How is nodeal not baked in?

I don’t know what the fuck is going on with Brexit, I hope boris’s Incompetence cucks the UK to the EU forever. How dare he involve the queen in party politics. Disgusting.

So, that’s it I guess. I should just get the fuck out of the market. Maybe buy NTDOY, LMT, MO all the way down.

Unironically, let’s glass the entire Middle East. It’ll only make our shale oil even more valuable.

The market would drop if No Deal Brexit happened, but it wouldn't be catastrophic. Maybe 5% in it, 10 to 15% tops. Localized to European markets mostly.

The China-US deal on the other hand, that can crush us back to late May/early June levels.

Worst case scenario for both, and both occurring? December 2018 lows.

In both cases it depends if the parties in charge feel it is electorally advantageous to do it. Polling in the UK show that it is. The US public opinion about China is turning to the point that Democratic candidates are bashing China too now.

I had a conversation about this recently, I don’t think it’s something to shame them over. It was sudden and traumatic, car wreck death.
Sounds weird but I think it’s just our cultural perspective being fucked. Kind of like how we’re shamed if we date a woman “too young” for us.
