Thoughts on the article., why blockchain will kill steam and ultra will disrupt the gaming industry and break into the billion dollar industry?

>> No.15849695

Go market your website on reddit. 4chan wont provide any fucking traffic.

If the team executes everything well and follow their roadmap, then it’ll look very good for the project. No financial advice

And Steam has 10,000% the userbase Ultra will have, so 70% of $100,000 profit or 85% of $10,000. I wonder which one devs will take... HMMMM

Why would a dev bother doing an exclusivity deal with Ultra? Doomed to fail. Look at the Discord Nitro store for reference, which already had millions of users at launch. Epic can do exclusivity deals because of Fortnite.

Because if they launch and only have 15,000 users a month in, people won't join knowing they barely have any users. There needs to be a killer exclusive game that is used as bait.

I agree on the quality of the article, the product looks promising but the main problem is getting users and games on the platform. Now there are rumours surrounding a partnership with Ubisoft. Apparently Ubisoft is not happy about their own game distribution platform so they are looking at Ultra as a solution to their problem. Seriously Uplay is rubbish and most people have the same experience using it.

I dare anybody to answer:
What makes ULTRA special compared to current DRM?
Why for games and no other media?
Why blockchain at all?
Where is the fucking repo?
Why do you need a token printed out of thin air?
Why it cannot be copy pasted removing the speculative aspect?
Why would devs want a shitty token instead of a stablecoin?

The direction is clear: Every publisher wants their own platform to have their own titles.

Well looks like you're new to blockchain technology, you know that coin that started this all? Yeah Bitcoin, you know why it was so revolutionary? Because it solved a major problem regarding the mutability of the ledger. So what this means is that whenever someone is tampering with the data on the blockchain everyone can see it on the public ledger.

The reason, why it's tackling the gaming industry, is because of the nature of gamers. They are already familiar with the concept of digital currencies making them a lot easier to adopt this technology. Furthermore, you might not have looked into the project or else you wouldn't ask these questions but Ultra is targeting the gaming industry which is pretty large at 140B. Distributing your resources to also encompass other media would stretch the team to thin.

Blockchain is littery the structure of a distributed ledger. I think you mean why a distributed ledger. Well, the main benefit to distributed ledgers that are encrypted is the security.

Here is your response

The reason for the token use case is published in this article: https://medium.com/ultra-io/in-this-article-we-will-provide-our-community-more-detailed-information-on-the-function-of-the-uos-5a809b6119fb

Please rephrase your second to last question

Because there are more features to the native token that could not be done with a stable coin. It's a utility token not a stable coin for that reason.

I agree I think that the space is big enough for centralized solutions like Steam and upcoming decentralized solutions like Ultra. The use of blockchain technology could act as a competitive advantage so Steam should act. More competition is only good for us consumers so why would you even want to fud it? Unless you hate cheaper and better games.

>Steam killer???

I really don’t care, but I would appreciate a platform where devs can expect a normal cut, and not getting fisted in the ass. Steam really is a pain in the ass to work with. (See the pun?)

To be honest i think only a small share is enough already.
Imagine steam valued 2,5billion at the moment and Ultra takes just 1% of that share it is 25million already.
I will support Ultra till everything runs well and the platform starts running.
After that it is a safe thing.

>> No.15854512

The problem regarding having the actual users will not be a problem as they are teasing partnerships with other companies with large user base the ultra ecosystem can tap into.

>> No.15854566

The market is also growing so there is more than enough space. There is however a trend catering towards publishers making their own distribution platform because of the huge cut Steam takes. We have seen Epic done a phenomenal job. If the rumours are true and Ultra has a partnership with Ubisoft I think we can be assured that the project is going in the right direction.

Not necessarily the case, it takes a lot of resources to build the actual distribution as well as migrating the users. So why spend the manhours and money if you can use another platform instead if they cut half the normal rate steam is asking.

Maybe do your research first instead of crying shitcoin all over 4chan. It doesn't matter what people show you, you will call it shitcoin anyway.
DYOR and read into the project first, check the videos, article (above), telegram etc.
You will never make it in your life without improving yourself you dumb shit. Crying just helps your feelings but not your overall situation.
